Responsible for assisting Ultrasound Technologists in completion of their clinical duties, by providing basic nursing care, the movement, observation and transportation of patients within the Department, and by accomplishing technical duties as defined in the job tasks.

Job Description

Operates ultrasonic equipment to produce images of the body’s organs and tissues for diagnostic purposes. Performs sonographic examinations to locate, evaluate and record critical functional, pathological, and anatomical data. Records test results, inspects and maintains equipment, and orders supplies when needed. Reviews physician requisition orders and instructions concerning patient preparation for ultrasound procedure. May communicate to OB/GYN nursing team status of patient condition pre and post procedure. Performs ultrasound imaging for fetal diagnosis and anomaly detection for patients with high risk indications.

Additional Job Description

Education: Graduation from an accredited school of Diagnostic Medical Sonography. Work Experience: 5 years for support or 0-2 years for professionalCertification by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) or the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT). Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or American Red Cross BLS for Healthcare Providers certification is required
