Requirements
  • Must possess and maintain an Information Technology Level I certification in accordance with Army Regulation 25-2 and an Information Assurance Technical Level II certification in accordance with Department of Defense 8570.01-M.
  • Seven to ten years of experience is required.
  • A Department of Defense Secret security clearance is required.
  • U.S. citizenship is required.
  • Experience with Microsoft SQL Server and Transact-SQL procedural language, Microsoft Visual Studio, Visual Studio .NET, and object-oriented programming languages is required.
  • A thorough understanding of current Asset and Service Management software, such as Remedy IT Service Management, HP OpenView AssetCenter, HP Service Manager, and ConnectIt, is required.
  • Familiarity with Ruby and the Ruby on Rails framework is required.
  • The ability to communicate system analysis concepts to technical and non-technical personnel and produce technical and system design documentation is required.
  • Customer service skills and the ability to troubleshoot customer issues on-site are required.
  • The ability to work within a set time schedule is required.
Responsibilities
  • Design and build applications using a variety of programming languages, techniques, and tools.
  • Design and develop user interface features, site animation, and special-effects elements.
  • Contribute to the design team’s efforts to enhance the look and feel of the organization’s offerings.
  • Design applications that support organizational strategies and goals relative to external communications.
  • Administer existing Asset and Service Management applications using standard development tools and in-house-developed scripts.
  • Develop and administer Microsoft Reporting Services and Crystal Reports according to management requests using Asset and Configuration Management and Service Management databases.
  • Administer and develop a custom Ruby on Rails-based asset management website.
  • Draft and maintain standard operating procedure documents for the functional category.
  • Develop enterprise applications, including data models, databases, reuse-library updates, interfaces, application control logic, forms, objects, reports, queries, and menus.
  • Plan tests, prepare test data, execute testing, identify and repair errors, and retest applications or modules before implementation and production deployment.
  • Prepare, update, and distribute end-user and system operator manuals, online help facilities, technical manuals, standard operating procedures, and automation documentation.
  • Advise on function automation, requirements integration with existing capabilities, communication requirements, system control and administration, information management systems, operating systems, and infrastructure compatibility.
  • Provide customer support by telephone or on-site while maintaining a professional manner.
