Requirements
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.

Responsibilities
  • Receive, inspect, count, and sign for incoming and outgoing supplies and equipment.
  • Take cycle counts and assist in compiling stock reports.
  • Enter receipts into the computer system and maintain the flow of receiving documents from Purchasing.
  • Replenish stock for departments daily.
  • Maintain the barcoding system for patient charges.
  • Prepare items for shipment.
  • Assist the Director of Materials Management with purchase orders when needed.
  • Sign for, unload, and inspect shipments for damage under the supervision of the Materials Manager.
  • Verify shipment accuracy against purchase orders and packing slips.
  • Obtain department signatures for direct orders and forward completed paperwork to Accounts Payable daily.
  • Enter receipts into the MMIS system with relevant comments and information.
  • Initiate inventory orders with the Purchasing Department and resolve problems caused by backordered items.
  • Record and report discrepancies to the manager, enter them into the computer system, and send copies to Accounts Payable.
  • Answer order-department inquiries about purchase order status.
  • Maintain the receiving area in a clean, safe, and orderly condition.
  • Deliver packages to departments upon arrival.
  • Perform clerical duties related to the receiving area.
  • Assist the department manager with special assignments, including taking inventory and filling exchange carts.
Desired Qualifications
  • Six months of materials management experience is preferred.
