Your DAM is about to get an AI team. Acquia DAM is introducing AI agents that actively work in your asset library - the Curator, Producer, Guardian, and Strategist. Here's what's coming and why it matters. Get the gist Acquia DAM is enhancing digital asset management with AI agents - Curator, Producer, Guardian, and Strategist - that automate organizing, content production, brand protection, and performance analysis. These agents work contextually within a governed platform, ensuring AI-powered efficiency coupled with human oversight. AI-generated content may be inaccurate There's a perception in the market that Acquia DAM has been standing still while competitors race to ship AI features. I want to address that feedback directly - because although Acquia has AI features Acquia has been doubling down on validating on how Marketers can drive meaningful outcomes using Agents in DAM use-cases. Let me tell you what's actually happening. What Acquia has already built. Over the past 18 months, Acquia DAM has shipped a series of capabilities that represent a genuine shift in what the platform can do. Natural Language Search, launched earlier this year, lets your team find any asset by describing what they need in plain language, in any language, without knowing how a file was tagged. Video Creator brings on-brand video production directly into the DAM, with AI scripting, subtitling, and translation built in. Asset Intelligence activates the moment a file enters the system: automatically identifying content, enriching metadata, generating alt text, and surfacing related assets. Nearly 300 integrations connect your content to the tools your teams already use. This is the groundwork for truly AI-powered digital asset management These were all features that helped marketers drive better outcomes in their existing workflows, but it was a deliberate shift to getting the platform ready for what's next. What's coming and why it matters. Acquia is now excited to embrace the paradigm shift with AI Agents. Later this year, Acquia DAM will introduce DAM AI agents: purpose-built AI agents for marketing teams, specialized Digital Teammates that don't just manage your asset library, they actively work inside it on your behalf. Think of it this way: Acquia DAM provides the tools and the governed foundation. You choose the goals. Your Digital Teammates get to work. Acquia is building four of them, each with a distinct role: The Curator keeps your library organized without human intervention. It recognizes visually identical images and prevents library bloat. It looks at an image, identifies SKUs, faces, or locations, and assigns taxonomy codes automatically. The result: a library that stays clean and usable as volume scales, without a dedicated person maintaining it. The Producer accelerates content production. It understands a request like "I need the web version of this" and converts a 50MB TIFF to an optimized WebP automatically. It detects focal points and generates correctly proportioned crops for every channel (Instagram, web, email, etc.) without routing a request back to the creative team. Hours of production work become minutes. The Guardian protects your brand. It flags uploaded content that appears AI-generated for human review. It runs brand compliance checks against your guidelines before assets move into campaigns. It's the safeguard that makes automation trustworthy rather than risky. The Strategist turns your DAM data into decisions. It analyzes asset performance across campaigns, identifies which content is driving results and which is being ignored, and surfaces recommendations for where to invest creative resources next. Instead of exporting reports and building pivot tables, your team gets forward-looking intelligence from the system that holds all the data. Every one of these agents operates as a digital teammate, inheriting all the permissions and governance that you rely on. Acquia also couple this with Human-in-the-Loop governance built in, nothing reaches production without a human approval step. Every action is traceable. You get AI speed without giving up control. How this is different from what competitors are offering The DAM market is moving fast on AI agents right now. What most vendors are shipping are smarter libraries - agents that enrich metadata, tag images, and check brand guidelines within the DAM itself. That's useful. But it stops at the asset boundary. What makes Acquia's approach different is the foundation agents work from, and where they can go. Its agents work from the full context of an asset: not just what it looks like, but its rights status, governance rules, performance history, and campaign association. An agent that only reads the surface of your assets will automate the wrong things confidently. Ours have the complete picture before they act. And because Acquia DAM is part of a connected platform, its agents don't stop when the asset is approved. Through its MCP layer - an open standard that connects AI agents across applications - a DAM agent can pass an approved, rights-cleared asset directly into a web publishing workflow, a governance check, or a site build in Acquia Source. A Web Developer Digital Teammate can take DAM content and build a Source CMS site around it. Your brand assets become the source of truth for your entire content operation, not just your library. No standalone DAM can replicate this. It requires the platform on both sides of the hand-off. The value you get from DAM AI agents depends entirely on the quality of the foundation they work from. Agents need governed metadata, clean rights data, consistent taxonomy, and performance history attached to assets. The organizations that will get the most from this capability are the ones building that foundation now. If you're an existing Acquia DAM customer, this means auditing your metadata structure, confirming your rights and expiration data is current, and making sure your governance workflows are set up to scale. If you're evaluating DAM for the first time, ask every vendor on your shortlist a simple question: when your agents make decisions about my assets, what do they actually know? The answer will tell you a great deal about how much those agents will actually do for you. The bottom line. Acquia DAM is not standing still. Acquia has been building toward this moment deliberately - investing in Acquia DAM's AI foundation, the search intelligence, and the platform connectivity that makes agents genuinely useful rather than just impressive in a demo. Your DAM is about to get a team. The best time to prepare is before they arrive. Ready to get AI-ready? Talk to your Acquia Rep. Vice President, Product Management Innovation, Acquia Source

Bitwarden scrubs 'Always free' and 'Inclusion' values from its website as longtime execs step down. What is going on with the beloved open-source password manager? Bitwarden, the maker of a popular free password manager and other security solutions, is quietly making changes. In February, longtime CEO Michael Crandell moved to an advisory role, according to LinkedIn, with no announcement from the company. His replacement, Michael Sullivan, former CEO of both Acquia and Insightsoftware, touts his experience with "all facets of mergers and acquisitions" on his own LinkedIn page, including experience working with leading private equity firms. CFO Stephen Morrison also left Bitwarden in April, replaced by former InVision CEO Michael Shenkman. Both Crandell and Morrison joined the company in 2019. Kyle Spearrin, who started Bitwarden as a fun hobby project in 2015, remains the company's CTO. Meanwhile, Bitwarden has made some subtle tweaks to its website. The page for its personal password manager no longer includes the phrase "Always free." Previously this appeared under the "Pick a plan" section partway down the page, but that section no longer mentions the free plan, though it remains available elsewhere on the page. Bitwarden made this change in mid-April, according to the Internet Archive. Update: After publication, an employee on the Bitwarden subreddit said that "Always free" had been restored on its pricing page, calling it an "oversight" by the marketing team. The product page for Bitwarden's personal password manager remains unchanged. Fast Company asked Bitwarden if it would commit to not removing any features from its free plan in the future. Bitwarden's Chief Customer Officer, Gary Orenstein, says via email that the company "remains committed to offering a robust free plan that delivers meaningful value for individuals."
Acquia has launched significant updates to Acquia Source and introduced Acquia AI, positioning the platform as a unified digital command centre for managing content, applications, AI agents and analytics. The company made the announcement at Acquia Engage Denver on 28 April 2026. Acquia Source addresses enterprise marketing teams' challenge of managing multiple disconnected tools by consolidating content management, digital asset management and web governance into a single workspace. The platform includes built-in Answer Engine Optimisation to ensure content visibility in AI-generated results from ChatGPT, Perplexity and Google AI Overviews. Acquia AI enables organisations to build custom agents or deploy ready-made ones, with all high-risk actions subject to human-in-the-loop governance before production. The platform will soon support integration with MCP-compatible AI agents including Claude and GitHub Copilot.
Introducing Acquia AI's digital teammates: create at scale without losing control. Acquia Source unifies AI agents, DAM, and web governance in one platform - helping enterprise teams create at AI speed without losing brand control. Get the gist Acquia Source integrates AI agents, digital asset management, and web governance into a unified platform, enabling enterprises to create content quickly while maintaining brand control, accessibility compliance, and SEO visibility. Its Human-in-the-Loop framework ensures speed with governance, reducing tool complexity and enhancing flexibility. AI-generated content may be inaccurate Acquia Source now includes Acquia AI and a unified command center UI - giving enterprise teams the speed AI demands and the governance their brand requires. AI has made creating content faster. Managing it is a different story. The average enterprise marketing team now juggles more than a dozen disconnected tools for content creation, digital asset management, web governance, and analytics - and AI has only increased the volume those fragmented stacks are expected to handle. This is the Complexity Tax: the compounding operational burden of maintaining disconnected systems and governance gaps that widen as AI output accelerates. Today, Acquia is addressing it directly. Acquia is announcing significant updates to Acquia Source, including Acquia AI and a new command center UI that consolidates your Acquia apps, AI agents, and analytics in one place - giving digital teams the ability to create at AI speed without sacrificing governance, compliance, or brand consistency. Why this moment matters. AI has fundamentally changed how people find information online. Platforms like ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Google AI Overviews now surface direct answers to buyer queries which means brands that aren't structured for AI-generated results risk becoming invisible, regardless of how strong their traditional SEO is. At the same time, governance expectations have never been higher. Accessibility standards, brand consistency, and regulatory requirements all create real risk when AI is deployed without the right controls. Enterprise teams are being asked to move faster and govern more carefully and most of their current tooling wasn't built to do both. What Acquia Source now includes. Acquia Source brings content management, digital asset management (DAM), and web governance together in a single platform. The new command center UI gives teams one consolidated interface to manage their Acquia apps, AI agents, and analytics - replacing the context-switching and manual coordination that slow execution down. Acquia AI gives teams a portfolio of purpose-built agents: * Writing Assistant Agent: optimizes content faster and at scale, without losing editorial voice. * Web Governance Agent: automates accessibility auditing across every page and property. * SEO and Answer Engine Optimization (AEO) agents: structure content for both human engagement and AI readability, so brands stay visible in ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Google AI Overviews. * AI Site Builder Agent: accelerates web development without requiring deep technical expertise. Every agent operates within Acquia's Human-in-the-Loop governance framework. AI actions are queued for human review with full audit trails and approvals before anything reaches production. Teams move at AI speed, with humans staying in control. The use cases it's built for. Scaling content without losing governance. Teams producing high volumes of new content and experiences like websites and microsites need AI that works within defined guardrails, not around them. Acquia AI generates and optimizes content from natural language prompts that account for brand standards and guidelines or by building out sites designed in Figma or other AI tools like Replit. These builds pass through Human-in-the-Loop review before going live so speed and brand standards coexist. Accessibility compliance at scale. For organizations managing hundreds or thousands of pages, manually auditing for accessibility is neither scalable nor reliable. The Web Governance Agent automates continuous scanning and flags issues before they become liabilities which is particularly valuable for higher education, government, and large enterprise teams. Visibility in AI-generated search. AEO is built directly into the Acquia Source content creation workflow. Content is structured for AI readability from the start, helping brands remain the authoritative answer in AI-generated results rather than losing ground to competitors who got there first. Stack consolidation. Organizations running separate tools for CMS, DAM, governance, and analytics carry significant overhead in licensing, integration maintenance, and team coordination. Acquia Source consolidates those capabilities into one platform, managed through a single command center UI, reducing the Complexity Tax that holds digital teams back. AI flexibility without vendor lock-in. Acquia Source is built on open architecture with native MCP (Model Context Protocol) support. Any MCP-compatible AI agent - including Claude, Cursor, and GitHub Copilot - can integrate directly with the platform, so organizations keep the flexibility to work with the AI models that best fit their needs as the market evolves. See Acquia Source in action These capabilities were unveiled at Acquia Engage Denver with early access to Acquia AI and the new user interface available now. If your team is managing too many tools, losing visibility in AI-generated search, or looking to govern AI content at scale, Acquia'd love to show you what Acquia Source can do.
