Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in network engineering.
  • Extensive experience with network design, implementation, and troubleshooting in high-frequency trading environments.
  • Extensive experience with Palo Alto Networks and Firewalls.
  • Strong knowledge of networking technologies and protocols, including TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, MPLS, and QoS.
  • Experience with network security technologies, including firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, and access controls.
  • Proven ability to lead and manage a team of network professionals.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Familiarity with financial exchanges such as CME, ICE, and Eurex.
  • Knowledge of Layer 1 switches.
  • Understanding of optimal FPGA network setups.
  • Experience with low latency connectivity vendors, microwave, and millimeter-wave connectivity.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CCNP, CCIE) are highly desirable.
Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage the networking team, providing guidance, mentorship, and performance evaluations.
  • Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of the firm’s network infrastructure, including LAN, WAN, VPN, and data center networks.
  • Ensure the network infrastructure supports the firm’s high-frequency trading operations, focusing on minimizing latency and maximizing reliability.
  • Develop and implement network policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Collaborate with other IT and trading teams to align network strategies with business goals.
  • Monitor network performance, identify issues, and implement solutions to optimize performance and reliability.
  • Manage network security, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and access controls.
  • Oversee network capacity planning and scalability to support business growth.
  • Stay updated with the latest networking technologies and trends to ensure the firm remains at the forefront of technological advancements.
  • Develop and manage the networking team’s budget, ensuring cost-effective solutions.
  • Manage low latency connectivity vendors, microwave, and millimeter-wave connectivity.
  • Ensure FPGA-safe setups within the network infrastructure.
