Requirements
  • Seven years of executive-level policy development or foundational experience directly related to the position being recruited; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Related experience must include sustainability, energy management and/or resource conservation.
Responsibilities
  • Lead statewide implementation of Executive Orders and legislation related to energy, climate adaptation, and building performance.
  • Serve as DAS’s enterprise subject matter expert on sustainability, energy, and resource conservation.
  • Develop policies and programs that help agencies save energy, conserve resources, and meet carbon reduction goals.
  • Advise leaders, provide technical guidance, and present to partners across agencies, communities, and the public.
  • Represent DAS on the Governor’s Climate Resource Cabinet and serve as central support to the Oregon Sustainability Board.
  • Build partnerships with agencies, local governments, tribal governments, and federal partners to advance sustainability.

  • Data analysis and accuracy: Analyzes and interprets data and reports, and is able to present, defend, and verify the accuracy of findings.
  • Project management and problem-solving: Manages projects effectively, uses data to guide decisions, and applies strategic and equity-centered approaches to solve problems.
  • Adaptability and teamwork: Demonstrates flexibility and collaboration in responding to shifting priorities, legislation, and organizational needs.
