Wink and Vouched partner to deliver biometric proof of personhood for agentic commerce. PR Newswire Today at 6:31am PDT Integration brings Wink's multi-modal biometric authentication and scoped credential binding into Vouched's Know Your Agent workflow, enabling verifiable human intent and payment authorization for AI agent-driven transactions PLANO, Texas, March 25, 2026 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ - Wink, the AI-powered biometrics as a service open payments platform, and Vouched, a leader in digital identity verification (IDV) and Know Your Agent (KYA) infrastructure, today announced a strategic integration that embeds Wink's proof-of-personhood technology directly into Vouched's agent creation and authorization workflow. The integration establishes a verifiable, biometrically anchored chain of human consent for AI agent-driven transactions - addressing one of the most critical unsolved challenges in agentic commerce. "Know Your Agent is the next frontier of digital identity. Wink's biometric depth transforms KYA from agent-level authorization into human-anchored authorization. That distinction is everything," said Peter Horadan, CEO of Vouched. As AI agents become capable of booking travel, making purchases, managing accounts, and executing financial transfers autonomously on behalf of consumers, the identity frameworks built for human-to-system authentication are proving structurally insufficient. Traditional proof-of-ownership mechanisms - OTPs, passkeys, hardware tokens - confirm that a credential was used. They cannot confirm that a living, consenting human authorized the action. The gap exposes enterprises to agent hijacking, unauthorized transactions, prompt injection fraud, and growing regulatory scrutiny over who is accountable when an agent acts. Through the Wink and Vouched integration, when a user creates or activates an AI agent inside Vouched's workflow, Wink's multi-modal biometric authentication, including real-time liveness detection across face, palm, and voice, is invoked to confirm the identity and intent of the authorizing human. At the moment of authorization, Wink's platform queries the user's biometric profile to retrieve bound credentials and surface them in the agent's authorization context. These can include payment tokens pre-scoped to a specific merchant and transaction amount, government-verified identity, loyalty accounts, and membership status - giving the agent exactly the financial authority its user intended, and nothing more. The entire authorization event is logged with biometric, behavioral, and intent signals, creating a tamper-evident audit trail that propagates through multi-agent architectures - providing the compliance and fraud evidence that enterprises and regulators will increasingly require as agentic commerce scales. "Know Your Agent is the next frontier of digital identity. Wink's biometric depth transforms KYA from agent-level authorization into human-anchored authorization. That distinction is everything," said Peter Horadan, CEO of Vouched. "Agentic commerce is the new frontier of checkout - and it needs a new frontier of trust," said Amitaabh Malhotra, Chief Sales & Marketing Officer, Wink. "Our partnership with Vouched means every agent action can be anchored to a verified human, with the credentials and scoped payment authorization to match. This is what Know Your Agent actually requires." A key element of the integration is scoped payment authorization. Rather than granting an agent broad access to a payment method, Wink's credential binding model allows users to authorize a specific payment token at the moment of agent creation - bounded by merchant, amount, and use case. This is the difference between giving an agent a credit card and giving an agent a signed, parameterized payment authorization. Wink and Vouched are making that precision a first-class, native capability of agentic commerce infrastructure. The integration is available to enterprise customers and development partners today. Merchants, platforms, and enterprises interested in deploying human-authorized agentic commerce capabilities are invited to contact Wink or Vouched to arrange a demonstration. Vouched, Epic join forces to streamline patient identity verification. Fraud detection company Vouched has announced a new integration that connects its healthcare-focused identity verification system with Epic's software toolbox, specifically within the MyChart category. The goal is to make patient identity verification faster, smoother, and more secure. For healthcare facilities already using Epic, this integration means they can now offer more reliable account creation, recovery, and ongoing access, all while reducing the risk of identity fraud and cutting down on administrative workload, according to an announcement. The solution is now listed in the Epic Showroom and is built to meet IAL2 standards, a widely recognized benchmark for identity assurance. Vouched's software was approved for integration with Epic's toolbox last year, while the toolbox was still in development. Now that the integration has been completed, it will ensure automated identity verification workflows for both web and mobile versions of MyChart. In the past, these processes often required manual help from patient support staff. With the new system in place, patients can verify their identity on their own during sign-up, by using their government-issued ID and a selfie, helping to lower the risk of fraud and improve the overall experience. The benefits go beyond convenience, the announcement mentions. Healthcare organizations using the integrated verification system can also expect fewer calls to help desks, less duplication of patient records, stronger protection of personal health information, and faster delivery of care. "For health systems looking to advance digital access and build patient trust, verified identity is a critical foundation," said Peter Horadan, CEO of Vouched. "Our integration with Epic's MyChart offers a simple, secure way for healthcare organizations to ensure every patient interaction begins with confidence." During account creation or recovery with the integrated system, patients can simply use the Vouched app to take a photo of their government-issued ID and a quick selfie. The system then verifies their identity in real time, making the process seamless and user-friendly. As digital healthcare continues to expand, streamlined identity verification is becoming more important than ever. With rising concerns over data breaches and medical identity theft, solutions like this, experts say, can help ensure that the right patient gets the right care in a quicker and more secure manner. Vouched has launched its automated identity verification application in the Epic Toolbox Identity Verification for MyChart category. The integration enables health systems using Epic software to verify patient identities within MyChart's website and mobile app, supporting secure account creation and recovery whilst reducing fraud and administrative costs. The application uses biometric identity proofing, allowing patients to verify their identity using a government-issued ID and selfie. This automates MyChart enrollment workflows, reducing call centre volumes and helping prevent duplicate medical records whilst protecting patient data. Epic introduced the category to establish recommended connection practices for integrations based on IAL2 standards. The Vouched integration provides a vendor-supported solution without requiring custom development. Vouched verifies millions of identities monthly across healthcare, financial services and automotive sectors.
Vouched has donated the Model Context Protocol – Identity (MCP-I) framework to the Decentralized Identity Foundation to establish open standards for AI agent verification. The protocol addresses how services can determine which agent is acting, who authorised it, and what it can do. MCP-I extends Anthropic's Model Context Protocol by introducing an identity and delegation layer using Decentralized Identifiers and Verifiable Credentials. This enables cryptographically secure verification of AI agents and their human principals without requiring prior coordination between parties. The DIF Trusted AI Agents Working Group will now steward MCP-I's development through a dedicated task force. The framework offers three implementation tiers, from foundational support using existing identifiers to enterprise-grade lifecycle management. Early demonstrations have shown MCP-I enabling verified AI agents to complete purchases securely whilst maintaining accountability.
