Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing as a Registered Nurse.
  • Maintain current Registered Nurse state licensure.
  • Have experience in clinical nursing.
  • Have an additional six months of chronic or acute dialysis nursing experience.
  • Demonstrate leadership competencies and management skills, including communication, customer service, continuous quality improvement, relationship development, results orientation, team building, motivating employees, performance management, and decision making.
  • Demonstrate management skills necessary to supervise facility personnel and ensure delivery of quality patient care.
  • Successfully pass the Ishihara Color Blind Test.
Responsibilities
  • Manage and oversee the daily operations of the dialysis facility in accordance with legal, compliance, and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with the Medical Director and Clinical Manager or Charge Nurse to provide quality patient care from admission through discharge.
  • Make daily decisions to ensure continuity of care and patient and staff safety.
  • Market available services through presentations to physicians and dialysis facilities.
  • Provide leadership, coaching, and development plans for direct reports.
  • Partner with Human Resources, Quality, Education, and Technical Services departments.
  • Oversee the facility’s Home Therapies Program with the Home Therapies Program Manager.
  • Maintain medical and operational records and comply with data collection and auditing activities.
  • Complete Internal Classification of Disease coding and required network reporting.
  • Coordinate on-site state and federal surveys.
  • Execute short- and long-term objectives with responsibility for costs, methods, staffing, and results.
  • Administer daily dialysis clinic business operations, including center staff functions, patient care quality, physical plant and equipment maintenance, and inventory control.
  • Manage profit and loss and other financial aspects of the center to achieve budget and key performance indicators.
  • Coordinate patient care from admission through discharge and address patient and family concerns.
  • Oversee completion of patient care assessments and care plans.
  • Manage patient schedules and develop action plans for missed treatments.
  • Report changes in patient status involving clinical, insurance, travel, or transportation issues.
  • Participate in selecting and hiring team members and ensure completion of orientation and mandatory training.
  • Ensure patient care employees complete required training and maintain current licensures and certifications.
  • Support clinical staff and encourage professional growth.
  • Obtain feedback for employee evaluations, establish annual goals, and conduct employee evaluations.
  • Document disciplinary actions and consult with the Director of Operations and Human Resources.
  • Manage staff scheduling and payroll.
  • Facilitate physician privileges and compliance with Medical Staff By-Laws.
  • Maintain physician relationships and effective communication.
  • Participate in the regional Governing Body interdisciplinary team.
  • Implement and maintain Continuous Quality Improvement and Quality Assessment and Improvement programs.
  • Review center operations for compliance with federal and state laws.
  • Support quality standards and develop facility-specific action plans.
  • Oversee training and compliance with company risk-management initiatives.
  • Manage facility staff workload and provide guidance to ensure effective and timely execution of duties.
  • Create and communicate employee schedules according to facility staffing needs.
  • Manage staffing through hiring, firing, and disciplinary actions.
  • Maintain documentation of disciplinary meetings and consult with Human Resources and the Director of Operations.
  • Ensure new-hire orientation, training, licensure documentation, in-service training, and policy updates are completed.
  • Provide training and guidance to develop staff clinical competencies and professional growth.
  • Maintain communication with Division and Corporate personnel and communicate organizational initiatives to facility staff.
  • Contribute to business growth using knowledge of company services and products.
  • Maintain facility environmental integrity and safety.
  • Schedule maintenance and repair of equipment, operating systems, and the facility structure.
  • Monitor facility security.
  • Coordinate inventory and supply management and approve purchase orders.
  • Ensure efficient use of medications, laboratory services, inventory, supplies, and equipment.
  • Contribute to facility policies, procedures, and manuals.
  • Direct information gathering supporting billing, billing issues, and collections.
  • Coordinate and approve facility payroll.
  • Participate in internal and external state and federal surveys.
  • Review provider contracts for vendor services.
  • Supervise Charge Registered Nurses and Direct Patient Care staff.
  • Interact with patients, facility staff, and physicians in the healthcare facility.
  • Travel to regional, Business Unit, and Corporate meetings when required.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience in a supervisory or management role in a medical facility.
  • Medical-surgical or intensive care unit/coronary care unit experience.
  • Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with medical database software.
