Requirements
  • Must possess, at minimum, a Nursing Degree from an accredited college or university, or graduate from an approved Licensed Practical Nurse/Licensed Vocational Nurse program.
  • Must possess a current, unencumbered, active license to practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse/Licensed Vocational Nurse in the state.
  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.
  • Must be able to read technical procedures and comprehend policy and procedure manuals.
  • Must be able to present information and respond to questions from managers and employees.
  • Must be able to apply fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

  • Must be able to plan, organize, develop, implement, and interpret programs, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures necessary to provide quality care.

  • Must maintain required continuing education and licensing and remain in good standing with the State Board of Nursing.
  • Must meet the facility's general health requirements, including a medical and physical examination.
  • Must be able to move, push, pull, and/or carry at least 25 pounds as specified.
  • Must be able to assist in evacuating residents during emergency situations.
Responsibilities
  • Provide direct nursing care to residents and supervise the day-to-day nursing activities performed by nursing assistants.
  • Direct nursing assistants' day-to-day functions and ensure nursing personnel comply with facility policies, procedures, job descriptions, and applicable regulations.
  • Plan shift services, programs, activities, staffing assignments, and work assignments with nursing and support personnel.
  • Prepare reports, evaluations, studies, charts, census reports, charge slips, medical forms, and other required documentation.
  • Admit, transfer, and discharge residents and complete the associated records and forms.
  • Receive physician telephone orders, transcribe orders, maintain resident charts, and complete required nursing notes and incident reports.
  • Prepare and administer physician-ordered medications and treatments, verify resident identity, maintain medication supplies, and reconcile narcotic records.
  • Participate in employee performance evaluations, identify staffing needs, and make recommendations concerning staffing actions.
  • Provide leadership to assigned nursing personnel, conduct unit rounds, identify problem areas, and report them to the Nurse Supervisor.
  • Inform nursing personnel about admissions and ensure rooms are prepared for new residents.
  • Coordinate diagnostic and therapeutic services, resident care, treatment, rehabilitation, social programs, and activity schedules.
  • Review resident charts, care plans, treatment orders, diets, and medication orders, and ensure care is delivered according to the care plan.
  • Notify physicians and next of kin about accidents, incidents, or changes in residents' conditions.
  • Perform nursing services including catheterization, tube feedings, suctioning, dressing changes, colostomy and drainage-bag care, specimen collection, vital-sign measurement, and range-of-motion exercises.
  • Monitor seriously ill residents and residents unable to call for help, and assess physical and emotional status.
  • Carry out restorative and rehabilitative programs and assist with resident and family needs.
  • Participate in quality assurance, facility surveys, infection control, safety, disaster preparedness, and regulatory compliance activities.
  • Develop, schedule, and conduct in-service training and orientation programs for nursing personnel.
  • Maintain clean and sanitary nursing areas, adequate medication and supply stocks, safe equipment operation, and required safety documentation.
  • Review and revise resident care plans and assist with Minimum Data Set assessments and related care-planning processes.
  • Report suspected fraud, hazardous conditions, information-security violations, and occupational exposures according to facility procedures.
  • Participate in continuing education programs and maintain current professional licensing.

PACS Group has appointed Carey P. Hendrickson as chief financial officer, effective 27 April 2026. Hendrickson brings nearly four decades of financial leadership across healthcare, senior living and media sectors. Most recently, Hendrickson served as CFO of U.S. Physical Therapy, overseeing 779 outpatient clinics across 44 states. He previously held CFO roles at Capital Senior Living Corporation, managing 128 communities across 23 states, and Belo Corp. He succeeds Mark Hancock, PACS's co-founder and executive vice chairman, who will retire by 30 June 2026 whilst remaining on the board as vice chairman. PACS Group has announced that co-founder and chief financial officer Mark Hancock will retire on 30 June 2026. He will continue serving on the company's board of directors as vice chairman. Hancock co-founded PACS in 2013 with Jason Murray, starting with two post-acute care facilities in San Diego. Under his leadership, the company expanded to 323 facilities across 17 states, serving over 31,700 patients daily and generating $5.29 billion in revenue in 2025, representing 29.3% year-on-year growth. PACS Group, a leading post-acute healthcare platform, has appointed Dr Patrick Conway to its board of directors. Dr Conway currently serves as CEO of Optum, UnitedHealth Group's health services division with revenues exceeding $200 billion. From 2011 to 2017, Dr Conway served as deputy administrator for innovation and quality at the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, where he also held roles as director of the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Innovation and chief medical officer.
