Responsibilities
  • Collect, organize, analyze, and evaluate moderately complex financial and statistical data and related information; complete quantitative and qualitative reviews; prepare internal and external records, reports, statistics, financial statements, analyses, and stockholders’ reports; develop and present conclusions and recommendations to management; and participate on project teams or committees supporting goals and objectives for customer service, process improvement, and resource management.
  • Perform duties under general direction with independent action and decision-making within the job framework; interpret and apply laws and regulations; and advise division management or designated representatives on accounting procedures, policies, and practices.
  • Identify and resolve accounting and financial account or transaction discrepancies, and explain variances between actual and planned activities.
  • Maintain complete and accurate regulatory filings.
  • Assist with developing, analyzing, and implementing accounting procedures in a systems environment in conformance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, Statutory Accounting Principles, Securities and Exchange Commission, Internal Revenue Service, and other regulatory standards.
  • Audit and evaluate the effectiveness of systems and procedures, and confirm consistent application of accounting pronouncements and policies.
  • Establish and maintain working relationships with business partners and state and federal agencies.
  • Stay abreast of current industry trends and regulatory changes.
  • Conduct benchmarking activities with companies and organizations inside and outside the industry, and recommend alternative business practices, procedures, solutions, and strategies based on best-practice research.
  • Assist senior team members in developing and implementing new applications and analytical models or enhancing existing systems.
  • Assist in maintaining the Financial Reporting Department’s system of internal controls, including documenting material process changes such as organizational changes, system modifications, and procedural changes.
  • Analyze Internal Control Assessment documents to assess the relevance of key processes, risks, and the internal control structure for the reporting process.
  • Perform process control testing, validations, and reconciliations.
  • Provide assurances and supporting evidence to aid compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley Section 302 regulations.
  • Perform other required duties.

Aflac reports Q2 net earnings of $825M, declares $0.61 quarterly dividend

Aflac Incorporated reported second quarter 2026 results with net earnings of $825 million, or $1.63 per diluted share, compared with $599 million, or $1.11 per diluted share a year ago. Aflac files omnibus shelf registration and launches Fit Checks cancer screening campaign with Rachel Zoe
