Requirements
  • A high school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) credential and prior medication management experience demonstrated through excellent organizational skills, or an advanced educational degree, are required.
  • One year of experience working with medications is required.
  • Applicants must be at least eighteen years of age.
Responsibilities
  • Log all client medications, including checking labels for accuracy, completing documentation, and storing medications according to DePaul’s policy and New York State Office of Mental Health regulations.
  • Copy all prescriptions and update client charts and medication and treatment records when new medications or change orders are prescribed.
  • Inventory medication counts in a timely manner to identify medications that need to be ordered.
  • Ensure prescriptions are refilled as needed.
  • Ensure effective systems are in place for ordering all medications.
  • Act as a liaison with residents, doctors, pharmacies, providers, and residential staff to ensure timely and accurate medication ordering and appointment scheduling as needed.
  • Oversee the supervision of all residents’ medications in accordance with physician’s orders, agency policy, and New York State Office of Mental Health regulations.
  • Review the Medication Administration Record daily to ensure accuracy in medication supervision.
  • Report significant medication issues to the Medication Coordinator 2, Assistant Director, or Residential Services Coordinator, including missed medication doses, resident refusals, and adverse reactions.
  • Assist with training and orienting applicable new staff regarding proper supervision of resident medications.
  • Monitor and document all residents involved in the self-medication process.
  • Maintain resident confidentiality and demonstrate caring, positive interactions with residents, family members, staff, guests, and service providers.
  • Keep the medication room clean, organized, quiet, and welcoming for residents.
  • Perform other duties necessary for effective operation of the program and medication room.
Desired Qualifications
  • A clean New York State driving record as outlined in DePaul’s personnel policy is preferred.

Pan-American Square Apartments wins Community Impact Award. SWBR Company is pleased to announce that DePaul Pan-American Square Apartments has been recognized with the 2025 Community Impact Award by the Buffalo/WNY Chapter of the American Institute of Architects. This award honors projects that make a meaningful difference in their communities through thoughtful, inclusive design. Completed earlier this year, Pan-American Square Apartments transformed a former rail corridor into a 150-unit affordable and supportive housing community in Buffalo, NY. Designed to Passive House standards, the development provides energy-efficient homes and essential services for seniors and individuals experiencing homelessness or mental illness. More than housing, it is a catalyst for community revitalization, delivering stability, sustainability, and hope for Buffalo's most vulnerable residents. Jury Comment: The integration of community-based programs and sustainable design at the Pan-American Square Apartments struck the jury. Exemplifying the criteria of the Community Award, the Pan-American Square Apartments took a holistic approach to senior living and supportive housing that will have a lasting positive impact on the WNY community. It is clear that this project will uplift and provide stability for the most vulnerable members of its community and the design team took every opportunity to maximize resources available to its residents. SWBR provided architectural, interior design, structural engineering, landscape architecture, and graphic design services for the project. The awards celebration was held Thursday, November 6 in Buffalo, NY.
