- Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing.
- Currently licensed by the State of Indiana as a registered nurse or licensed practical nurse.
- Ability to read and write in English and communicate with residents, families, personnel, and support agencies.
- Ability to remain calm under stress.
- Ability to perform bending, lifting, walking, grasping, fine hand coordination, distinguishing smells, tastes, and temperatures, and hearing and responding to pages.
- Assist with the direct supervision of resident care activities performed within the facility on a twenty-four-hour basis.
- Assist with coordinating nursing service activities with facility administration, community agencies, physicians, and families.
- Assist with nursing service compliance in accordance with facility policy and procedure and applicable federal and state regulations under the direction of the Director of Nursing and/or Administrator.
- Assist with developing and implementing methods for coordinating nursing services with other resident services.
- Assist with planning, developing, organizing, implementing, evaluating, directing, and managing the nursing services department under the direction of the Director of Nursing Services.
- Assist with planning, developing, implementing, and maintaining resident discharge procedures and plans.
- Participate in interviewing and screening residents for admission to the facility.
- Assist in assuring that each resident’s attending physicians and family or responsible party are promptly notified of significant changes in the resident’s health status.
- Assist with developing work assignments for nursing services personnel based on residents’ specific nursing care needs.
- Experience or training in nursing services administration, rehabilitation, or geriatric nursing.
- One or more years of demonstrated ability in nursing administration and/or supervision in a health facility.
