About the Team:
The Security Engineering team is responsible for all aspects of technical security. Our goal is to provide all of our employees with the right guidance to help ensure a safe environment for our users!
About the Role:
As a Staff Cloud Security Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing security measures to protect our cloud infrastructure and data. You’ll be responsible for configuring and maintaining cloud security tools, helping to secure our cloud networks and manage edge defenses to protect against external threats, and ensuring compliance with our standards, as well as assisting in defining those standards. Additionally, you will collaborate with other teams to identify and mitigate risks, and stay updated on the latest cloud security trends and threats. This role requires a strong technical background and a proactive approach to safeguarding our cloud environment.
This is a hybrid role based out of our Denver, Los Angeles, New York, Seattle, and San Francisco office hubs.
In this role, you will:
- Evaluate, deploy, and manage cloud security tooling to enhance the overall security posture
- Collaborate on risk assessments and threat modeling
- Assist other teams in identifying & solving security issues in cloud infrastructure in a manner that complies with business requirements
- Implement and manage cloud network security measures to safeguard the network from threats
- Design and build security infrastructure and controls
- Create automation to solve security problems
What you bring to the table:
- 5+ years of cloud security engineering experience
- 8+ years of experience working with a public cloud infrastructure
- Proficiency in one or more programming languages such as Golang, Java, Ruby, Python, or PHP
- Experience in securing containerized applications and orchestration platforms, such as Docker or Kubernetes
- Experience with infrastructure as code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, or similar tools
- Experience with networking and Unix/Linux servers
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Open, humble, and candid approach to communication
Bonus points if you have:
- Experience with network security tools, such as firewalls, identity aware proxies, or VPNs
- Ability to conduct penetration testing and security reviews of cloud infrastructure

Total compensation for this role is market competitive, including a starting base salary of $150,000 - $220,000, depending on location and experience, as well as company stock options
