Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience leading a product design team, ideally focusing on growth and revenue projects.
  • Proven leadership experience in managing and mentoring design teams.
  • Ability to balance high-level strategic thinking with detailed design work.
  • Comfortable guiding your team through complex, ambiguous challenges.
  • Strong understanding of user-centered design principles, UX/UI best practices, and the ability to translate business goals into compelling designs.
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills, with experience working closely with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong ability to use data to inform design decisions and measure success.
  • A history of innovative thinking and a passion for pushing design boundaries to achieve business goals.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Design, HCI, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
Responsibilities
  • Lead the Design Team: You’ll lead and mentor a group of designers, fostering a collaborative and innovative environment and ensuring high-quality design across all growth and revenue projects.
  • Strategic Vision and Execution: Develop a design strategy that aligns with Tinder’s business goals, focusing on user acquisition, retention, and monetization. You’ll balance strategic thinking with hands-on design work, guiding your team through every stage of the process.
  • Be Hands-On: Actively participate in the design process, contributing directly to projects when needed. Lead by example in both your design work and strategic thinking.
  • Collaborate Across Teams: Work closely with Product, Engineering, and Marketing teams to identify opportunities and deliver impactful design solutions that support key business metrics. Ensure alignment and clarity between design and other teams.
  • Coach and Mentor: Provide guidance and support to your team, helping them navigate complex and ambiguous challenges. Foster a culture of continuous learning and development.
  • Focus on the User: Ensure that design decisions are driven by user research, data analysis, and a deep understanding of user behavior, advocating for the user at every stage of the product lifecycle.
  • Innovate: Stay ahead of industry trends and new technologies. Continuously explore new design methods and tools to enhance the user experience and drive growth.
  • Communicate Effectively: Clearly communicate design strategies and concepts to senior leadership and other stakeholders, showing how design contributes to business goals.
  • Measure Success: Use data to measure the success of design initiatives, iterating on designs to improve performance and user satisfaction.
