BASICFUNCTION:
Thepurposeofthispositionistoperformhighlyskilledresearchor
analysesinvolvingcomplexscientificmethodsoracomplexseriesof
steps.Responsibleforoverseeingorconductingcriticalpartsofresearch
projects.Mayalsoperformtheday-to-daycoordinationofaresearch
group,takingchargeoftheexecutionofpartsofaresearchproject.This
positiontypicallyreportstoaPrincipalInvestigator(PI).
SUPERVISORY ACCOUNTABILITY:
Responsible for orienting andtrainingothersandassigningand
reviewingtheirwork.Mayalsoberesponsibleforactinginaleadorsenior
capacityoverotherpositionsperformingessentiallythesameworkor
relatedtechnicaltasksandreportingtoahigherlevelonaformalbasis.
NATUREANDSCOPE:
Toestablish internal and external contact with institute’s staff, researchersandjuniorresearchers,andoutsidevendorsforthepurposeofgatheringandexchanginginformation.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Assistisconductingliteraturereviewsneededtosuccessfullycompletea majorproject.
- Assistinformulatinganddevelopingguidelinesforapplyingtoeducationalpracticethefindingformtheliteraturereviews.
- UnderthedirectionofthePI,serveasanadvisorandworkcloselywiththe staffoftheprojectintheconductofclassroomfieldresearch.
- Conductworkshopsthatwillbenefitstaffworkingwithcertaintargeted
- populationsandmakepublicpresentationsregardingtheresearchprojects.
- Performadministrativeworkinsupportofresearchobjectives,developand
- monitorsprojectbudgetandauthorizeexpendituresofprojectfunds.
- Design,fabricate,repairand/oroperateresearchequipmentforthedevelopmentofresearchdataasrequired.
- Planandcoordinatecomputerizedstatisticalanalysesforadvancedandcomprehensiveresearchprojects,whichincludeconsultingwithotherresearcherstoderiveanunderstandingofthehypothesisand experimentalapproachanddecidinguponappropriatestatisticalanalysesforvariousdesigns.
