Job Description

1) Insurance experience (Policy, Billing or Claims) - this person will be working on the billing side of the house. Guidewire experience is ideal.

2) Experience creating training documentation and designing the content to train users on how to use the system (design, structure and write the content); Captivate experience.

3) Understanding of different training tools and different ways to deliver content (i.e. webinar, LMS, etc.) - need to understand various ways to deliver content (they use "Learn Upon" in their environment) and who is comfortable delivering the training (good presentation skills). Audience size can range anywhere from 5-30 people.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Sr. Liferay Developer will work within a collaborative agile team. Responsibilities include development, reliability, availability, and performance of Liferay portal applications. Application services provide automation, workflow & process improvement, system/application integration, employer and payer portals.

THE DETAILS

• Design, develop, maintain and ensure the reliability, availability, and performance of Liferay portal applications

• Business SME. Collaborate to understand the business. Create collaborative partnerships with our customers, to understand their vision and the strategy for their business operations. We approach our work as service providers and operate in a service relationship with our customers.

• Participate in requirements analysis and develop solutions for all tiers of the application: user interface, business logic, database, and reporting

• Platform SME. Provide leadership, design, and innovation on existing and future state Database platforms, Application Servers, and Configuration Management.

• Interface SME. Understand the whole system of which the Liferay platform is a part. Study the people, processes, structures, and technologies that compose the "supra-system" in which Liferay will operate. Understand the existing interfaces between systems, the technology interactions, the interrelationships between existing business processes, and the established habits of interaction between existing organizational and other structural components.

• Infrastructure SME. To deliver applications which provide reliability, availability, and performance requires the Sr. Software Engineer to be very familiar with the database-management system, OS, Network, Storage, and other infrastructure services that deliver the applications services which support business services and provide value.

• Security SME. Provide leadership in Concentra’s Software Security Assurance (SSA) process to ensure that software is designed to operate at a level of security that is consistent with the potential harm that could result from the loss, inaccuracy, alteration, unavailability, or misuse of the data and resources that it uses, controls, and protects.

• Build SME. Provide leadership in Branch Engineering, Build Automation, and Continuous Integration in order to deliver as fast as possible, with the highest quality, and the most business value.

Additional Information:

REQUIRED LIFERAY SKILL-SET

• Design, develop, deploy and support Liferay portal platform and Java/J2EE solutions

• Translate application storyboards into functional and dynamic web pages containing portlets

• Design and develop application layer with external application components

• Develop solutions using best practices in exception handling

• Create deployment scripts and deploy solution to server

• Develop test scripts for unit and Integration testing

JOB-RELATED EXPERIENCE

• 7+ years of experience in the area of Software Analysis, architecture, development, Maintenance and Support. Almost 4+ years of hands on Liferay development experience 

• 3 years of experience in design and development of Liferay applications involving hooks, themes, layouts, portlets (JSR-168/JSR-286 Portlet development), and external Plugins.

• 5+ years of JAVA/J2EE and Liferay/Java design patterns 

• Strong Knowledge in J2EE, RDBMS, OOAD, MVC Frameworks, ORM Tools, Web Servers, Web 

• Experience in setting-up Clustered Liferay Portal environment. 

• Installation and configuration of Liferay on Glassfish and Tomcat

• Securing Liferay servers (Enable audit logging, assign correct roles to users) 

• Customizing and using Liferay out-of-Box portlets. 

• Experience on LDAP and Liferay auto login process 

• Strong knowledge on SOAP and Restful web services and Configuring WS-Security. 

• Experience in Site monitoring and tracking tools (Google analytics) 

• Proficiency in programming with different Java IDE’s 

• Strong technical background, excellent analytical ability, good debugging skills, good communication skills, team player, goal oriented and ability to quickly learn new technologies as required. 

• Design and development of XML Schema Definitions

• Testing: performing/automating Unit through Integration Testing. System Integration Testing. 

• Experience with Agile Software Development Lifecycle.

• Liferay portal certified is a plus.
