Requirements
- EIT or having practiced for at least 5 years
- Or five (5) years of relevant construction experience in the Structural Inspection discipline that can be validated
- Or a graduate from an accredited school holding a Bachelor or Associate of Science Degree in Engineering, Architecture or Building Construction may be credited up to (3) years for a Bachelor or (1) year for an Associate Degree toward the required (5) years construction experience
- $ 120,000-180,000 Annual Salary Range
- Pay may be more or less depending on experience, skills and education
Responsibilities
- Inspection of concrete structures and associates items such as: prestressed post tension bridges, retaining walls, box culverts, sound walls, false work, CIDH piles, steel piles, anchor bolts, sheet piles, reinforcement, soil nail walls
- Ensures compliance with the approved plans as well as City, State and Federal construction and safety standards and codes
- Reviews structure shop drawings submitted to determine that such plans meet the requirements of all contractual documents. Candidate shall make field inspections when necessary to clarify plans. Knowledge of standard plans, Specifications, California Test Methods, and various constructional manuals is a plus
- Confers or corresponds with Engineer of Record, clients or contractors concerning questions involved in constructability reviews
- Makes recommendations for changes during constructability reviews and supports the RFI process during construction
- Attend weekly on-site construction meetings. Verbal, written, and oral skills are imperative. Photo or video documentation will be required
- Attends seminars and training courses to stay informed on new developments in the related field and to obtain current information of code changes
- Must establish and maintain effective and professional relationships with work colleagues, supervisors and managers. Candidate will be a team player and solution oriented
