Requirements
  • Requires at least a Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Information Technology, Engineering (any) or related field and 7 years of progressive post-baccalaureate experience as a Business Analyst, Business System Analyst, IT Business Lead Analyst or related position involving data analysis for the financial services industry.
  • 7 years of experience must include: Data analysis; Agile methodologies; Atlassian and Jira; SAS and Collibra; Oracle (Toad) and SSMS; SQL and relational databases; and MS Visio and Powerpoint.
  • 1 year of experience must include: Data management principles and data governance frameworks; Regulatory Reporting with Federal Reserve Board and Office of the Comptroller of the Currency; Metadata extraction, transformation and loading (ETL); RPA principles; and Lucidchart.
Responsibilities
  • Interpret regulatory requirements related to financial reporting, including but not limited, to regulatory and management reporting to Federal Reserve Board (FRB) and Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC).
  • Use Oracle (Toad) and SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS) to extract and analyze data sources and systems to ensure completeness and accuracy of data used in regulatory reporting.
  • Perform metadata extraction, transformation and loading (ETL) to place data into warehouses for further analysis and reporting.
  • Map data elements to regulatory report templates, identifying gaps and discrepancies for remediation.
  • Interpret data trends, patterns, and insights to inform strategic decision-making.
  • Interface with Finance, Risk, Regulatory affairs, Compliance and IT teams to understand reporting requirements and utilize knowledge of systems and process flows to provide insights and recommendations on identified issues.
  • Produce metrics to senior management highlighting key issues and remediation status and maintain and enhance related operational and analytical procedures.
  • Implement controls and validation checks to mitigate risk of errors in reporting submissions.
  • Assess and remediate EUCs (End user Computing) for key regulatory reporting across business lines.
  • Assist with development and enhancement of bank’s data governance regulatory reporting framework.
  • Define, design and conduct analysis on data initiatives, including capturing business, operational and technical metadata; capturing data lineage; performing data certification; automating data quality rules and processes utilizing SAS and Collibra.
  • Use Agile methodologies to build out data backlog, drive estimates and coordinate sprint planning leveraging Jira, and Atlassian.
  • Liaise with data engineers and Quality Assurance teams on defects fixes assisting with troubleshooting and resolution of application defects.
  • Create forward looking data and process documents and Visio workflows to aide in identifying process gaps and assist with designing strategic solutions to meet Regulatory commitments.
  • Use Robotic Process Automation (RPA) to identify opportunities to streamline and automate regulatory reporting processes to improve efficiency and accuracy.
  • Develop regulatory reporting process flow documents related to metadata lineage across business sectors using Visio, Lucid chart and PowerPoint.
  • Perform requirements gathering, data workflow creations, and process maps to identify inefficiencies and recommend process improvements.
