Requirements
  • 5+ years of professional experience in application security, software architecture, or software engineering
  • 2+ years experience threat modeling embedded systems
  • Expertise in industry standards and regulations such as ISO 21434, UNECE WP.29 R155, or similar in other industries
  • Systems engineering experience aligned with rigorous practices such as those promulgated by INCOSE
  • Strong ability to perform architectural, design, and other reviews in a cybersecurity context
  • Experience effectively communicating deficiencies to engineering teams
  • Working knowledge of developing in C and C++
Responsibilities
  • Implement design review, attack surface analysis, and threat modeling processes for self-driving systems in conformance with AVCDL
  • Utilize implemented analysis processes to find threats in self-driving systems, their components, and supporting cloud infrastructure
  • Analyze design constraints, analyze trade-offs and detailed system and security design, and consider lifecycle support
  • Create and communicate convincing evidence that the self-driving system is free of unreasonable threats in a manner that is suitable for regulatory certification
  • Engage early and often with new development projects to reduce re-work required to improve cybersecurity
  • Contribute to the development of detailed security design documentation for component and interface specifications to support system design and development
  • Clearly document self-driving architectures in a manner that is useful for communicating cybersecurity information
  • Consult with teams to provide solutions to remediate or mitigate uncovered deficiencies
  • Interact with development teams to ensure controls are meeting the intended goals
  • Document and communicate security findings and associated risks to a broad audience
  • Enhance threat modeling tooling, such as the Microsoft Threat Modeling Tool, to improve automation when used for automotive systems
  • Contribute to industry organizations to proliferate standard approaches for pro-actively finding threats that work well and are efficient in a self-driving context
  • Provide subject matter expertise in cybersecurity to the enterprise
