Requirements
  • Education: Undergraduate business degree in economics or a related field; advanced research-focused degree strongly preferred.
  • Applicants should have at least 7-10 years of relevant experience, credit research experience is required.
  • Strong research and analytical skills including the ability to gather, interpret and effectively communicate macroeconomic, capital market and private market data.
  • Active reader of relevant voices from research institutions, government offices, central banks, advocacy groups, sell-side analysts and media surrounding private markets, and in particular private credit (corporate and alternative).
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including ability to articulate recommendations in a concise, frequent and timely manner.
  • Ability to work effectively and efficiently in an entrepreneurial environment, execute with limited oversight.
  • Ability to organize and lead research projects across functional teams.
  • Highly motivated self-starter who works well independently.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work well under pressure.
  • Experience working with teams globally across borders, time zones, and cultures preferred.

Responsibilities
  • Responsible for sourcing, aggregating and analyzing macroeconomic, public and private credit market data and research to identify and synthesize key themes, trends and projections to be included regular investor communications, thought leadership pieces and ad hoc requests.
  • Collaborate with Ares Credit Investment and Investor Relations teams as well as Public Markets Investor Relations, Corporate Communications, Legal and Compliance teams, to draft public-facing content for the Ares websites, newsletters and social media channels in addition to supporting investment teams.
  • Expected to create frequent (at least 2x per month) timely thought pieces covering Non-Investment Grade Liquid Credit markets, US, European and Asian Private Credit markets (corporate and non-corporate) on a rotating basis or as the markets or internal guidance dictates.
  • Draft market outlook commentary for quarterly fund reports, conferences, and investor marketing materials.
  • Prepare positions and speaker notes on behalf of Credit Group Leadership.
  • Provide research talking points in support of quarterly earnings calls and investor meetings.
  • Sit in on Investment Committee Meetings across the Credit Group at Ares.
  • Participate in editorial meetings with the Corporate Communications team.
