At Northrop Grumman Defense Systems, we are seeking a Quality Control Technician 2 to support our Armament Systems business unit in Mesa, AZ.
Location:
This position requires on-site support. Selected candidate will need to be within commuting distance to our site in Mesa, AZ. Relocation assistance is not available with this position.
Position Overview
- Performs analyses and tests of raw materials, packaging materials, and/or finished products from manufacturing, to ensure quality standards and compliance to customer and regulatory requirements, and tolerance specifications for the chemical or physical property.
- Performs a variety of qualitative tests or qualitative assays on samples, and to aid in maintenance and certification of test instruments and apparatus to ensure compliance.
- Prepares and monitors quality statistics and reports.
- Reviews production records for conformance to procedures.
- Conducts non-conformance tests of manufactured, packaged or tested product.
Responsibilities
- Inspects purchased materials, assembled components, and final assemblies for conformity to standards, specifications, and processing requirements.
- Inspects for proper identification and dimensions using such measuring devices as micrometers, gauges, and calipers.
- Visually inspects for obvious defects or damage such as corrosion, cracks, dents, scratches, and pits.
- Verifies specifications using contracts, purchase orders, prints, drawing or inspection instructions, and checklists.
- Inspections may involve or three-dimensional projections using inspection equipment such as bore and telescope gauges, and optical comparators.
- Makes accept/reject decisions on inspected goods. Maintains records of results.
- Crosstrain across quality functions.
- Perform First Article Inspections.
- Interact with DCMA and other customer representatives.
Basic Qualifications:
- High School diploma, or equivalent, plus 2 years of experience in quality relevant field
- Experience with purchase order, contract, specification and drawing interpretations.
- Print reading and GDT experience.
- Basic PC skills including knowledge of MS Office products.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 1-3 years of experience as an inspector or equivalent.
Salary Range: $43,100.00 - $71,900.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate’s experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
