Requirements
  • Experience supporting Linux desktop environments
  • Experience supporting Windows desktop environments
  • Able to multitask and prioritise efficiently
  • Strong knowledge of linux as a desktop Operating Systems (Ubuntu LTS preferred)
  • Familiarity with Linux in an Active Directory integrated environment
  • Experience supporting Microsoft Office productivity software, particularly Excel
  • Knowledge of basic networking concepts: DHCP, DNS, cabling standards, etc
  • Outstanding attention to detail
  • Desire to learn new skills
  • Excellent customer support
  • Experience working with virtual desktops (VMware Horizon preferred) is a big plus
  • This role will require 5 days in the office as it requires close contact with our end users.
Responsibilities
  • Manage the installation and configuration of desktop computing solutions
  • Provide first level support for the Windows and Linux desktop environments
  • Facilitate technology setups for new employees and role changes
  • Maintain AV and video conferencing technology throughout the office
  • Follow and update procedural documentation e.g. user onboarding
  • Maintain and update inventory of office IT equipment
  • Configure telephones, printers, and other common office technology
  • Work with external vendors and suppliers as required
