Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field; MBA or other advanced degree preferred.
  • Certified in LEAN or Six Sigma required.
  • 10+ years of experience in leadership roles, with a proven track record of successfully leading large-scale organizational transformations.
  • Deep understanding of change management methodologies and best practices.
  • Strong strategic thinking and planning skills.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to facilitate transformation initiatives across cross-functional teams.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to influence and persuade at all levels of the organization.
  • Passion for driving change and achieving results.
Responsibilities
  • Develop and champion the transformation vision: Embrace and refine the strategic roadmap for organizational transformation, outlining clear objectives, and timelines. Communicate this vision effectively throughout the organization to gain buy-in and alignment.
  • Lead the execution of transformation initiatives: Partner with SLT leaders including, but not limited to, Production Control, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Operations in the planning, implementation, and execution of key transformation projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and meet the desired outcomes. This may include process optimization, technology implementation, cultural change, and organizational restructuring.
  • Drive innovation and learning: Augment the Continuous Improvement Organization in developing a culture of innovation and learning by identifying opportunities for process optimization, automation, and technology adoption. Encourage experimentation and learning from both successes and failures.
  • Facilitate cross-functional teams: Motivate cross-functional teams across Austal USA at large, providing guidance and support. Collaborate with the Organizational Development and Learning team in regards to identifying development opportunities. Ensure effective collaboration and communication across departments.
  • Manage stakeholder engagement: Effectively communicate with and manage expectations of key stakeholders, including the executive team, board of directors, employees, customers, and partners.
  • Monitor and report on progress: Track the progress of transformation initiatives, regularly reporting on key metrics and providing updates to the executive team and other stakeholders. Identify and address any roadblocks or challenges.
  • Develop and manage the transformation budget: Oversee the budget allocated for transformation initiatives, ensuring resources are allocated effectively and efficiently.
  • Foster a culture of change: Champion a culture that embraces change, encourages experimentation, and empowers employees to take ownership of transformation initiatives.
