Requirements
  • High School completion or equivalent is required
  • Managers ServSafe Certification required
  • Must have, as a minimum, two years of food service supervision experience, including experience within an institutional setting including retirement community, nursing home, or hospital
Responsibilities
  • Oversees completion of employee work schedules for Health Services Dining Team Members while adhering to labor budget
  • Take ownership for all areas in the Assisted Living and the Health Care Center regarding food quality, food safety, sanitation, resident satisfaction, and meeting standards set by the Health Services Administrator
  • Directs and oversees catering events for Healthcare Residents, Healthcare Activities Departments, and outside sales
  • Responsible for overall department sanitation; ensures development, implementation and monitoring of cleaning schedule; ensures department maintains a Health Department Grade ‘A’ of 97% or higher
  • Involved in development & implementation of menus Health Care with a strong emphasis on menu items not repeating within a seven-day period
  • Ensures that storage areas are maintained in a clean and organized manner, food items are rotated
  • Regularly audit tray line and food temperatures, and provide feedback to Health Services Director as it relates to QAPI and regulatory compliance
  • Process new diet orders and diet changes; keep diet cards updated, identify appropriate special requests for residents in accordance with their meal texture and dietary restrictions
  • Review, revise, and implement, in cooperation with the IDT, the client’s nutrition assessment and plan of care
  • Coordinate closely with Speech and Occupational Therapy to manage diet textures, adaptive equipment, and other resident-specific needs to maximize nutritional outcomes & PO intake
  • Performs any other duties and/or tasks that may be assigned on an as-needed basis by an authorized supervisor
Desired Qualifications
  • Certified Dietary Manager (CDM) or Certified Food Protection Manager (CFPM) Certification preferred but not required. If not obtained prior to hire date, will receive within 6-months of hire date
