Devops Engineer

Extend is building a modern document processing cloud. We're on a mission to transform how the world works with unstructured data.

As a DevOps Engineer at Extend, you'll be responsible for building and scaling the infrastructure that powers document processing for mission-critical flows at companies like Square, Zillow, and Brex. We're looking to hire someone who can turn our current infrastructure into a battle-tested platform that scales to billions of documents.

We're a lean team, and our customer base is growing too fast for us to keep up. We're looking for talented engineers to join our team and execute on an ambitious roadmap.

Impact & Role

Our infrastructure processes 10s of millions of documents monthly, and when we go down, real-world consequences follow — missed payments, delayed home closings, broken business workflows. You'll own the reliability and performance of systems that our customers bet their businesses on.

• Scale our infrastructure 100x across API calls, document processing workloads, and terabytes of data.

• Build deployment pipelines and tooling that let enterprises run Extend in their own environments with one-click deploys

• Obsess over performance, and shave milliseconds off latency at every part of our stack.

• Create dashboards and alerts that help us understand not just what broke, but why it broke and how to prevent it

• Design isolation and security boundaries that let us serve everyone from startups to Fortune 500s on the same platform

• Have complete ownership over the work you do — as a early team member, you’ll have the opportunity to truly own large areas of product and engineering and have direct relationship with customers.

• Work directly with the CEO, CTO, and other founding members and help build out our team.

Ideal Candidate Credentials

• 4+ years of experience building complex software systems in production environments

• You're fluent in modern cloud platforms (AWS/GCP) and infrastructure as code (Terraform, K8s)

• You've been at high-growth startups and know what "great" looks like

• Ability to take abstract projects end-to-end, operating with high agency

• You've scaled infrastructure at high-growth startups

• Experience with developer tools is a plus
