  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Three years of experience involving trade applications or mechanical work, including automotive, industrial, or hospitality work, is required; one year is required for graduates of a trade or vocational school.
  • The employee must complete training in blood-borne pathogens, fire safety, right-to-know, chemical hygiene, and infection control.
  • The employee must follow OSHA standards and applicable safety regulations, including responding to code calls.
  • The employee must maintain confidentiality and security of facility, medical staff, and patient information.
Responsibilities
  • Work with other trades as assigned and collaborate with outside contractors as needed.
  • Requisition relevant supplies and tools and request assistance from Engineering department personnel to complete assignments efficiently.
  • Perform routine and emergency repairs and maintenance on structures and equipment in assigned areas.
  • Assist other engineering trades during workload peaks, emergencies, or inclement weather conditions.
  • Detect and report faulty equipment, improper operations, or unusual conditions to the appropriate supervisor.
  • Maintain records to support compliance with state, federal, and Joint Commission regulations.
  • Coordinate, conduct, and document fire and life safety measures throughout the facility, including fire inspections, with the Safety and Security departments.
  • Maintain equipment and work areas in a clean and orderly condition.
  • Perform minor repairs from verbal or written requests.
  • Maintain regular and punctual attendance consistent with applicable policies and standards.
  • Maintain compliance with facility policies and procedures and participate in scheduled department meetings.
  • Maintain confidentiality and security of facility, medical staff, and patient information.
