  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Five or more years of related work experience in operational management is required.
  • The Operations Manager Trainee must possess and maintain a valid driver's license and automobile insurance, with the driver's license verified through a motor vehicle record check at hire.
  • The role requires timely travel to multiple offices per day, sometimes several times per day, with reliable transportation.
  • Reliable alternate transportation may be used in lieu of a valid driver's license and automobile insurance if it permits the required timely travel.

  • Knowledge of dental plans, insurance fees, administrative guidelines, limitations and exclusions, reporting systems, business correspondence, business reporting techniques, and profit and loss statements is required.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft applications, Epic, 1VU, BOX, and standard office equipment is required.
  • The role requires the ability to make timely and accurate decisions using information that may be vague or limited.

Responsibilities
  • Model company culture, values, standards, and best operational practices based on the We Believe Behavioral Framework.
  • Complete the Operations Manager Development Program through structured curriculum, practical on-the-job application, and development meetings.
  • Assess, hire, and retain right-fit team members through training, supervision, counseling, and coaching.
  • Assess, investigate, and resolve staff and patient issues by analyzing facts and circumstances to develop timely, effective, logical, and creative solutions.
  • Execute the PDS Operational Model consistently to meet office imperatives in partnership with the Owner Dentist.
  • Drive year-over-year revenue and profit growth.
  • Manage expenses to achieve monthly goals and budget.
  • Use cash management and accounting protocols proficiently and consistently.
  • Develop the team’s Perfect Patient Experience.
  • Deliver leadership, coaching, and mentoring to team members to identify and implement improvement opportunities.
  • Maintain open communication with direct supervisors, keep commitments, and raise issues and concerns early.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor in accordance with company policies and address others professionally and respectfully.
  • Use People-related tools and resources for assessment, hiring, retention, performance evaluation, separation processes, and compensation guidance and execution.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and state, federal, and other regulatory requirements.
  • Report weekly to the Regional Manager on accomplishments, improvement areas, performance goals, and system effectiveness.
  • Demonstrate competency in managing front-office and back-office team members and developing the team by the end of the development program.
  • Develop and implement an office success plan, including staff development and office protocols for efficient operations during manager absences.
Desired Qualifications
  • An associate degree is preferred.
  • A bachelor's degree is preferred.
  • Five or more years of experience leading a team, mentoring, and coaching subordinates is preferred.
