Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; bachelor's degree in business or a related field preferred
- 2+ years of experience in collections, accounts receivable, accounts payable, customer success, or a related field
- Strong understanding of the trucking industry and related payment and invoicing processes preferred
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Works well under pressure and meet deadlines
- Able to prioritize workload and manage multiple tasks and responsibilities
- Strong problem-solving skills, including proven ability to identify problems and investigate and implement solutions
- Proficient with relevant software systems and tools, including Microsoft Office
- Comfortable working in a fast paced startup environment where systems and policies are ever changing
- Capacity to work both independently and as part of a team
Responsibilities
- Ownership over end-to-end collections for a portfolio of outstanding invoices for an assigned book of business
- Manage an outsourced collections agent who will assist with workload
- Build and maintain relationships with debtors (brokers and carriers) to ensure timely payment and/or issue resolution
- Create, negotiate, and execute on payment plans with clients as needed
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all collection activities and customer interactions
- Work with other teams to resolve issues related to billing, invoicing, and payment processing
- Take steps to increase business profitability through proper collection activities on all past due open items
- Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures related to collections and customer interactions
