Requirements
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree AND two to four years’ experience designing control systems in industrial markets.
  • Ability to use and develop electrical drawings for enclosures and panels with AutoCad or equivalent software.
  • Ability to read and understand P&ID’s in order to define application requirements.
  • Ability to read and understand electrical schematics.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical principals, concepts and techniques.
  • Good understanding of basic PLC programming concepts (i.e. ladder logic, addressing, etc.)
  • Familiarity with basic industrial communication protocols (HART, Modbus, Ethernet IP, etc.)
Responsibilities
  • Support assigned control system sales projects from definition to installation and customer acceptance (if required). Communicate with customers and the VEGA sales team to define system requirements and ensure sales projects are executed to customer expectations
  • Where appropriate, develop functional specification and sequence of operations documents to support the PLC design and third-party software development
  • Review customer project specifications to ensure VEGA systems are compliant
  • Design and develop control systems using VEGA , PLCs and HMI components.
  • Provide technical support to field service technicians in the area of instrumentation and connection to control systems and control system components
  • Establish and maintain relationships with strategic third-party vendors (panel shops, integrators, etc.)
  • Define and manage internal control system projects for trade show demos or training purposes
  • Maintain and troubleshoot lab equipment
  • Occasional travel required (<25%)
