Supporting Belmond Hotels prepare for a data-driven season. As part of Kitchen CUT's continued partnership with Belmond Hotels, Solutions Consultant Bradley Cross recently completed an intensive onsite visit with two iconic Caribbean Belmond Hotels. 16 June 2026 Marie Merry Over seven days, Bradley worked closely with the operational, culinary, purchasing and finance teams to strengthen processes, improve data integrity and ensure that both properties are fully prepared for the upcoming season. Cap Juluca: building strong foundations for operational visibility. At Cap Juluca, the focus was on embedding Kitchen CUT into daily kitchen operations and creating greater transparency across purchasing, inventory and food cost management. Due to the nature of the island, procurement has significant and specific challenges to overcome to ensure the guest experience isn't compromised. The Culinary senior team and purchasing managers completed comprehensive training covering market lists, purchase orders, goods receiving, product management and wastage tracking. The property's primary objective is to gain greater visibility of stock movement and food waste, allowing the team to make more informed operational decisions. A key milestone was establishing a structured process that will ensure all outlet orders are managed through Kitchen CUT before purchasing teams are introduced to the workflow. This phased approach will provide both departments with clear visibility into product usage, stock requirements and associated costs, while strengthening collaboration between the kitchen and purchasing teams. Significant progress was also made on product data management. Working closely with Bradley, CAP Juluca appointed a lead for the Workday-to-Kitchen CUT product relationship. Together, they identified duplicate purchase items, removed redundant purchasing data and began aligning product information with actual kitchen usage. Weight and volume measurements have been standardised as the primary units of measure, creating a more accurate and scalable foundation for future reporting. The team also introduced Kitchen CUT's buffet analysis functionality, enabling more effective monitoring of breakfast service costs and providing greater visibility into profitability and operational performance. With kitchen ordering now underway and recipes being built across all outlets, Cap Juluca enters the next menu cycle with a strong operational framework and a clear roadmap for further improvements. La Samanna goes live after three-year project journey. A major highlight of the trip was the successful launch of Kitchen CUT at La Samanna. Following a lengthy onboarding process due to legal and legislative challenges, the property is now fully operational on the platform. Product data was imported, system configuration completed and comprehensive training delivered across kitchen, food and beverage, purchasing and finance teams. Bradley worked closely with Executive Sous Chef Bertrand, and the wider team to establish products, recipes and sub-recipes, while introducing buffet analysis processes to support future cost-management initiatives. Training sessions were also delivered to purchasing and finance stakeholders, ensuring clear ownership of the relationship between Workday and Kitchen CUT and establishing procedures for ongoing product management and data governance. To support system alignment, Kitchen CUT has been configured in euros to match Workday. Additional development work relating to Silverware POS data conversion is now being scoped, paving the way for future integration and enhanced reporting capabilities. With the system now live, the focus shifts to recipe creation, buffet management, purchasing alignment and future technology initiatives, including POS integration, digital recipe management and live allergen visibility via QR-code for operational teams. Preparing for a successful season ahead. Both properties demonstrated exceptional engagement throughout the visit, with teams embracing the opportunity to strengthen processes, improve data quality and build greater visibility across their food and beverage operations. By combining operational expertise with accurate data, both Cap Juluca and La Samanna are now well-positioned to maximise control, improve profitability and enter the next season with confidence. Bradley Cross, Solutions Consultant at Kitchen CUT said, "It was a pleasure to finally meet in person many of the teams I've worked with remotely for such a long time. The engagement, commitment and hospitality shown throughout the visit were exceptional. Both properties have made significant progress and I'm confident they are in a fantastic position to have everything in place for the start of next season. While the onsite visit has finished, I'm continuing to support both teams remotely with refresher training and ongoing guidance as needed." Elevating its status among London's finest, The Cadogan holds Forbes Travel Guide Five-Star recognition and has been awarded Two Michelin Keys, placing it firmly among the most exceptional luxury hotels in the city. These accolades reflect not just design and location, but a level of service and experience that feels deeply personal and effortlessly polished. New luxury riverboat Marguerite set to boost Burgundy tourism in 2026. Published on March 17, 2026 Burgundy, France is set to welcome a new chapter in luxury river tourism as Les Bateaux Belmond introduces Marguerite, a reimagined floating villa designed to enhance slow travel experiences across the region's waterways. Launching in late summer 2026, the vessel is positioned to strengthen Burgundy's appeal as a premium destination for immersive, small-group travel. The introduction of Marguerite reflects a growing shift in tourism trends, where travelers are increasingly seeking deeper cultural connections, personalized journeys, and slower-paced itineraries. With capacity limited to just eight guests, the riverboat is tailored for intimate travel experiences that highlight Burgundy's landscapes, heritage, and gastronomy. A new addition to Burgundy's river tourism. Marguerite joins Belmond's established fleet operating across France, expanding options for travelers exploring Burgundy's canal networks. The vessel has been redesigned from the former Amaryllis, incorporating updated interiors and a layout focused on comfort, privacy, and seamless indoor-outdoor living. The riverboat features four double suites, each equipped with ensuite facilities, allowing guests to travel in small groups while maintaining a high level of personal space. The design integrates regional elements inspired by Burgundy's natural surroundings, aligning with the broader trend of destination-led hospitality. % buffered Powered by GliaStudios From a tourism perspective, the addition of Marguerite supports the continued development of river cruising in inland France, particularly in regions where over-tourism is less prevalent compared to major cities like Paris. Slow travel and regional exploration. Marguerite's itineraries are designed to navigate Burgundy's lesser-explored waterways, offering access to rural villages, vineyards, and countryside landscapes that are often inaccessible through traditional tourism routes. This aligns with the concept of "slow tourism," where the focus shifts from covering multiple destinations quickly to spending more time in fewer places. Travelers onboard can expect routes that pass through canal-side towns, historic wine regions, and agricultural landscapes that define Burgundy's identity. By emphasizing extended stays and curated excursions, the riverboat contributes to local tourism economies, encouraging engagement with regional producers, artisans, and heritage sites. Wine tourism at the core. Burgundy is globally recognized for its wine culture, and Marguerite's itineraries place a strong emphasis on vineyard visits and wine-focused experiences. Travelers will have opportunities to explore renowned wine-producing areas, participate in tastings, and learn about traditional winemaking techniques. These experiences are integrated into the journey, rather than treated as standalone activities, reflecting a broader trend in experiential tourism where food and beverage play a central role in destination storytelling. Wine tourism continues to be a key driver for Burgundy's international visitor arrivals, and curated river itineraries provide a structured yet flexible way to access multiple vineyards within a single यात्रा. Culinary tourism and onboard dining. A significant aspect of the travel experience aboard Marguerite is its culinary offering, which includes menus curated by Michelin-starred Chef Dominique Crenn. This positions the riverboat within the growing niche of tourism, where travellers prioritise food experiences as part of their itinerary. Meals are designed to reflect regional ingredients and seasonal produce, connecting onboard dining with Burgundy's agricultural landscape. The integration of local flavors into the supports the broader objective of promoting regional cuisine as a tourism asset. Dining spaces include an open-plan salon and outdoor deck areas, allowing guests to experience meals in varied settings, including al fresco arrangements along the waterways. Infrastructure and tourism development. The launch of Marguerite also highlights ongoing investments in France's inland waterway tourism infrastructure. Burgundy's canal systems have long been part of the region's identity, and renewed interest in river cruising is contributing to their revitalization. By offering high-end, small-capacity vessels, operators are able to cater to a segment of travelers seeking exclusivity while minimizing environmental impact. This model supports sustainable tourism practices by reducing crowd density and encouraging longer stays. Personalized travel experiences. One of the defining features of Marguerite is its focus on customization. Excursions may include guided visits to historic towns, cycling routes through vineyards, or interactions with local communities. This level of personalization reflects a broader shift in the travel industry toward flexible and experience-driven itineraries. Outdoor and wellness elements. The design of the vessel incorporates outdoor spaces, including a deck surrounded by natural elements such as herbs and wildflowers. These areas are intended for relaxation, dining, and informal gatherings. A private plunge pool and open-air seating further enhance the experience, aligning with current travel trends that emphasize wellness, nature, and open environments. Strengthening Burgundy's global tourism position. With the addition of Marguerite, Burgundy continues to position itself as a destination that balances heritage with modern travel expectations. The region's combination of wine tourism, culinary experiences, and scenic waterways makes it increasingly attractive to international travelers seeking alternatives to high-traffic destinations. The riverboat's launch in 2026 is expected to contribute to visitor diversification, drawing travelers interested in niche experiences such as luxury river cruising and slow tourism.
