Requirements
  • Ability to prepare complex proposals with minimal supervision.
  • Knowledge of electrical and renewable energy estimation, including wind, solar, and battery energy storage systems.
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Project, estimating software, and database programs.
Responsibilities
  • Estimate, prepare, and assign resources such as manpower, materials, consumables, equipment, and tools required for all electrical and related work before execution.
  • Plan and analyze possible construction methodologies and recommend the best option to the Assistant Project Manager for approval before execution at the site.
  • Interpret construction drawings and study contract documents and applicable standards or specifications before executing any job.
  • Manage directly and provide engineering and technical support to all electrical work groups at the site.
  • Coordinate with client and consultant representatives regarding site instructions and inspections of work.
  • Assign accomplishment targets and ensure that daily targets are met for all electrical groups at the site.
  • Ensure that all work complies with approved construction drawings, contract documents, project specifications, and applicable standards.
  • Prepare project budgets by categorizing costs and monitor those costs throughout the project lifecycle by comparing and adjusting estimated costs against actual costs, including production rates and material costs.
Desired Qualifications
  • Knowledge of HCSS Heavy Bid estimating is preferred but not required.
  • A degree in Engineering, Construction Estimating, or a related field is preferred, although solid experience may substitute for the degree.
