Requirements
  • At least one year of experience in accounts payable and accounts receivable or equivalent.
  • Experience with project management and working across multiple diverse groups.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and technology skills.

  • Criminal records satisfactory to the VHA are a condition of employment.
Responsibilities
  • Process client assistance payment requests, credit card transactions, employee reimbursements, and invoices for program and administrative expenses.
  • Complete weekly check runs, prepare payments for signature, distribute checks, and prepare positive pay reports.
  • Code transactions accurately and provide appropriate descriptions.
  • Improve and optimize accounts payable processes using accounting tools such as data imports, bank feeds, and optical character recognition capabilities.
  • Request documentation according to CFTH and funder requirements and route invoices for approval.
  • Create and send customer invoices, track payments, and reconcile accounts.
  • Collaborate with the Development team to record donations and grant receivables accurately and on time.
  • Manage and record incoming payments according to CFTH procedures.
  • Generate customer aging reports.
  • Prepare and complete remote bank deposits.
  • Maintain vendor lists, profiles, and W-9 forms.
  • Distribute 1099 forms and investigate mismatches.
  • Advise staff and provide training on proper coding and other processes as needed.
  • Maintain and update accounting records supporting processed transactions.
  • Establish and maintain financial reports and schedules.
  • Assist the CFO with month-end closing processes.
  • Ensure adherence to CFTH internal controls.
  • Collect, analyze, and report complex statistical and financial data.
  • Interpret and apply applicable federal, state, and local codes, laws, regulations, Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, board practices, and standards.
  • Provide support to staff, community stakeholders, and interns.
  • Travel periodically within the agency’s service area.
Desired Qualifications
  • Two years of college-level coursework in accounting or a related subject.
  • Experience with Sage Intacct.
