  • High School Diploma/Equivalent.
  • Must have 500 flight hours total time with 50 hours of tailwheel aircraft experience.
  • Tow endorsement preferred.
  • Experience with Air Force Flight Operations preferred.
  • Current FAA Class II medical.
  • Commercial Pilot Certificate ASEL.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen with a Valid Driver License.
  • Must pass background and drug screening.
Responsibilities
  • Performs glider/sailplane towing operations at the USAFA Airfield (KAFF). These operations include tows from the surface to 12,500 MSL for USAF owned and operated gliders.
  • Occasionally supports USAFA glider tow operations off site for 94th training camps and soaring competitions within a day’s flight of Colorado.
  • Conducts preflight inspections, positioning of aircraft in hangars, Tow Plane refueling, post flight cleaning of tow aircraft and periodic hangar floor cleaning.
  • Schedule - M-F with varying shifts from sunrise to sunset. Some Saturdays and Sundays. Must fly at least twice per month and provide at least 10 working days of availability each month excluding PTO.
  • Accomplishes required online safety and security training.
  • Maintains pilot flying and medical currency.
