Requirements
  • Hold an Autorité des marchés financiers license in Quebec or another province.
  • Be fully bilingual and fluent in both English and French.
  • Demonstrate interpersonal, presentation, oral and written communication, and negotiation skills.
  • Have strong organizational and time-management skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver timely, accurate client-focused work while responding with urgency as required.
Responsibilities
  • Respond to client requests and inquiries across multiple channels and complete or submit requests accurately and promptly in accordance with carrier guidelines.
  • Analyze client needs, counsel clients, recommend coverages, identify coverage gaps, and identify cross-selling opportunities.
  • Provide quotations and market proposals, explain and select coverages based on discovery and needs analysis, and prepare and submit applications according to carrier guidelines and timelines.
  • Conduct annual renewal reviews to maintain coverage and pricing aligned with clients’ changing needs, by phone or through in-person visits when required.
  • Obtain claims information sensitively and accurately, submit it to carriers promptly, and provide claims education to clients.
  • Pursue new business opportunities, write profitable business, and monitor profitability.
  • Use the broker management system to enter and maintain prospect and client account information accurately and promptly, and keep accounts receivable current.
  • Establish and maintain productive referral relationships with internal and external contacts, clients, centers of influence, and carrier partners.
  • Attend mandatory compliance, service, product, systems, and process training and follow regulatory requirements, professional standards, internal policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Fulfill annual insurance licensing requirements, complete required courses, and track necessary hours to keep licenses current and in good standing.
  • Set and pursue goals that produce high-quality results.
  • Apply sound judgment and strategic thinking and use solution-driven problem-solving skills.
Desired Qualifications
  • Hold a Registered Insurance Brokers of Ontario license.
  • Have 5–10+ years of Personal Lines experience, including client-facing experience and exposure to high-net-worth clients and carriers.
  • Have a college or university degree.
  • Demonstrate an entrepreneurial spirit and a track record of account rounding, prospecting, and successfully signing new clients.
  • Have strong insurance knowledge across asset classes, including underwriting, pricing, claims, and cross-border exposures.
  • Be proficient in The Agency Manager (TAM/EPIC) broker management systems and Microsoft Office products including Word, Outlook, and Excel.
  • Demonstrate a positive and motivating team-oriented approach, a strong work ethic, and commitment to delivering professional expertise to clients and colleagues.
