Good Good sacks three execs over ad showing woman pushed to ground

American golf brand Good Good has dismissed three senior executives following backlash over an advert showing a woman being pushed to the ground. Chief executive Matt Kendrick and president Joe Flannery were sacked on Wednesday, whilst vice-president of brand and marketing Jeffrey Lefkovits was dismissed earlier this week. The video, created for golf club manufacturer Callaway, showed a Good Good co-founder pushing professional golfer Alexis Miestowski to the ground after she reached for a club. It drew widespread criticism for making light of violence against women. Callaway ended its partnership with Good Good and donated $1 million to organisations supporting victims of violence against women. Good Good, which has 2.1 million YouTube subscribers, has also withdrawn from sponsoring a PGA Tour event in Austin, Texas.

Good Good Golf CEO and president resign after Callaway ad controversy costs retailer deals

Good Good Golf CEO Matt Kendrick and president Joe Flannery have resigned following controversy over a co-branded driver advertisement with Callaway. The video featured Good Good co-founder Garrett Clark shoving fellow member Alexis Miestowski. Nahid Giga, managing partner at G4 Investment Partners and a Good Good board member, will serve as interim CEO. Clark remains with the company and will continue creating content. The fallout has been significant. Callaway terminated its partnership with Good Good last week. The YouTube golf group also withdrew from sponsoring a PGA Tour event in Texas. Major retailers including Dick's Sporting Goods, Golf Galaxy, PGA Tour Superstore, and Target have pulled Good Good merchandise. Good Good raised $45 million last year led by Creator Sports Capital.

Key executives out at Callaway Golf, Good Good Golf after ad debacle.

Key executives out at Callaway Golf, Good Good Golf after ad debacle. The departures at Callaway Golf, Good Good Golf follow the uproar over a video that saw a male golfer shove a woman golfer over a co-branded driver. September 1, 2026, 12:48pm The now-deleted Good Good Golf video advertisement last month showing a woman being shoved to the ground by a male golfer over a co-branded driver featuring Callaway branding has resulted in repercussions. Jeffrey Lefkovits, Good Good's vice president of brand and marketing, is no longer with the company. Also gone is Alex Upegui, director of content and production at Callaway. These departures were first reported on Front Office Sports, which also noted that one other employee at Good Good is also on the way out. The ad that was released on Aug. 21 showed Good Good cofounder Garrett Clark knocking over brand influencer Alexis Miestowski, a former Division I golfer. The video was taken down a day later following backlash over the ad. You May also Like. Good Good apologized the day the ad was taken down, saying that the video "ultimately depicted actions that are not aligned with our values as a brand" on its X account. And Callaway's first response said it was "disappointed by the content," adding that it appreciated Good Good for addressing it. A few days later, Callaway Gold chief executive officer Chip Brewer issued his own apology. "While the video was produced by Good Good, it was approved by Callaway prior to posting. That approval should never have happened," Brewer said in a statement posted to Callaway's Instagram. He said at the time that the company was conducting internal and external investigations and has already changed its approval processes. Brewer also added that Callaway is "unequivocally against discrimination, domestic violence, or threatening behavior of any kind." Good Good CEO Matt Kendrick said that concept was intended to parody a scene from the film "Obsession," but he also took responsibility by noting that the execution "missed the mark." Kendrick also said that Good Good is changing its creative review and approval process. Good Good also saw its merchandise being pulled from retailers' shelves that include Golf Galaxy, Dick's Sporting Goods and the PGA Tour Superstore. Good Good's ties to the industry has been in expansion mode. The fallout comes as the company is scheduled to title-sponsor the PGA Tour's Good Good Championship in Austin, Texas, from Nov. 12 to 15. PGA Tour CEO Brian Rolapp called Good Good's initial response "a bit defensive and late." Good Good has since stepped down as sponsor of the even amid the fallout. Also last month, Callaway ended its partnership with Good Good. Golf includes women as one of the fastest-growing participant groups. The National Golf Foundation said in May that the number of female on-course golfers rose 45 percent form 2020 to 2025. Brands are taking notice too, with Cole Haan recently introducing a women's golf apparel line. Tory Burch has its own golf apparel, which is a subsection component of Tory Burch's Tory Sport collection. Daily Headlines You May Like

EXEC: Toni Sailer skiwear brand names Timo Regier to new managing director USA post. September 1, 2026 Toni Sailer, the Munich-based premium skiwear brand that is owned by Fashion Pool GmbH, believes it has made a significant step in its international expansion strategy with the appointment of Timo Regier as managing director USA. In this role, Regier, who comes to Toni Sailer after more than 20 years with Kjus, is expected to oversee the strategic development and commercial growth of the Toni Sailer brand across the United States and Canada. Prior to Kjus, where he was most recently EVP of global sales and a member of the Board of Management, Regier reportedly worked for Callaway Golf in Europe for over six years. "North America has long represented a cornerstone of Toni Sailer's global portfolio," the company said in a media release. "Following the establishment of its dedicated subsidiary, Fashion Pool USA, in 2008, the brand has successfully positioned itself in premium ski destinations and major metropolitan areas worldwide. Today, Toni Sailer is recognized globally for its unique synthesis of luxury fashion, high performance technology and distinctive design." The company said the appointment of Timo Regier marks the next phase in its North American growth trajectory. Regier is expected to focus on elevating the brand's market footprint in the U.S. and Canada, "optimizing existing Toni Sailer retail relationships, and establishing new strategic partnerships." A core objective of this new leadership in the U.S. is said to be the reinforcement of Toni Sailer's market positioning as a premier international luxury performance brand. "Now, I am incredibly proud to step into a new chapter with another true icon of the industry," offered Regier. "There is something special about the heritage and craftsmanship of Toni Sailer, and I'm energized to lead our growth across the Atlantic. We have a massive opportunity to redefine luxury performance for the American skier, and I am especially looking forward to collaborating with our American trade partners to bring this vision to life. It is an honor to be part of the wonderful Toni Sailer team as we embark on this next chapter." Toni Sailer said this appointment underlines the strategic importance of the North American market. "The focus is on sustainable growth, close collaboration with selected retail partners, and bringing the unique combination of fashion and function that defines Toni Sailer to life for skiers across North America," the company concluded. Why apologies couldn't contain Good Good and Callaway's PR crisis. Good Good Golf and Callaway Golf are facing a commercial and reputational backlash over an ad that appeared to make light of violence against women. The controversy has now developed into a public dispute between the former partners, with Good Good's CEO accusing Callaway of approving the campaign before attempting to shift responsibility for it.
