We are now recruiting for a Learning and Development Advisor to join us permanently support our major projects.
The Learning and Development Advisor (UK) will provide support to the programmes across the client portfolio. Working as part of the team it is expected that they would have good communication skills both verbal and written, the understanding and the ability to use standard office IT package software (word, excel, powerpoint) would be a significant part of the role.
The role requires someone who can impact and influence both managers and colleagues to ensure that learning and development activities are planned in, completely in a timely manner and can also review and analse data to support with reporting on training activities.
Responsibilities include:
- Act as the first point of contact providing advice and guidance on all aspects of Learning & Development.
- Conduct thorough assessments to identify skill gaps and training needs across the teams.
- Develop strategies to promote a culture of continuous learning and knowledge sharing. Encourage participation in learning activities through effective communication and engagement activities.
- Work closely with Heads of Profession to identify training requirements ensuring that these are relevant, beneficial and accessible.
- Work closely with the Operations Managers to support the requirement of required training. Tracking, coordinating and managing the mandatory training cycle.
- Coordinate logistics and scheduling the delivery of multiple training requests. Ensuring records are kept up to date.
- Coordinate legal compliance and mandatory courses for relevant colleagues.
- Monitor completion of online courses.
- Coordinate completion of client required courses.
- Process employee career development applications in line with the annual training cycle.
- Analyse performance data and feedback to inform training priorities.
- Forecast and oversee the costs relating to any external training, providing regular updates on output and delivery.
- Continually update employee training records on the HRIS.
- Manage external providers. Develop and own the relationships with suppliers of training services including agreeing any terms of service, service level agreements and return on investment activity where training is delivered by external parties.
- Maintain the Learning and Development Preferred Suppliers List (PSL).
Safety Accountabilities:

Position Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:
- Proven experience in a learning and development role
- Demonstrable knowledge of learning and development processes
- Able to work unsupervised and flexibly when necessary
- Accurate and thorough attention to detail
- Computer literate and high level competency in Microsoft Office suite and other standard business software systems.
Advantageous
- CIPD Level 3 in Learning and Development
- Associated member of the CIPD
For this role, there is a requirement to be onsite in Aldermaston, 4 days a week.
Due to the nature of our business, we need all candidates to ideally be Security Cleared (SC) or have no issue in obtaining SC. A prerequisite for SC is that the applicant has lived in the UK for at least the last 5 years.
