Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher is required.
  • 12 to 16 years of experience in electrical or electronics product development lifecycle which comprises of requirements engineering, detailed design, testing and qualification.
  • 3+ years of people management experience wherein the candidate is responsible for performance management and career development of the reporting employees.
  • Strong communication skills – written and verbal are required to be able to operate across different levels in the organization.
Responsibilities
  • Manages, develops, and motivates a team of electrical engineers to deliver engineering solutions in the electrical systems and wiring design and installation lifecycle.
  • Develops and maintains strategic partnerships with customers, collaborators, peers, and direct reports.
  • Performs project planning for multiple projects, develops and administers budgets, schedules and performance standards.
  • Exercises critical thinking and innovative problem solving.
  • Acts as the initial point of escalation for issues or challenges encountered by the team. Capable of effectively prioritizing and de-escalating issues with impacted parties.
  • Analyzes hiring results, metrics and trends to influence team strategy and performance.
  • Develops and performs project and process plans, implements policies and procedures and sets operational goals.
  • Leads projects or initiatives at the direction of the engineering organization to implement process / product improvements.
  • Demonstrates the Boeing Behaviors in a deliberate and observable way.
  • Manages a group of roughly 18-25 direct reports.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience in the aerospace domain for electrical or electronics product development.
  • Experience in the electrical wiring and harness design and development, system design encompassing the entire wire design lifecycle.
  • Experience in electrical loads analysis, electrical system design, harness routing and installation, functional and wiring integration testing and troubleshooting on the aircraft.
  • Know-how of harness manufacturing.
  • Detailed knowledge of aerospace engineering standards for design, testing & certification. Knowledge and understanding of technologies, policies and procedures related to engineering of defense related products.
  • Past experience and demonstrated ability to manage aerospace product design & development and certification testing, laboratory and flight test facilities and relevant work-statements.
  • Must have ability to accomplish results through effective collaboration working with all collaborators including colleagues in other parts of Boeing, and suppliers.
  • Demonstrated engineering leadership experience in major organizations.
  • Ability to work well with virtual teams across multiple time-zones and cultures.
  • Familiarity with MS Office tools.
  • Candidate must be a self-starter with a positive attitude, high ethics, and a track record of working successfully under pressure in a time-constrained environment.
