Responsibilities
  • Ensure FirstNet's applications and infrastructure comply with NIST SP 800-53 standards.
  • Develop tailored security policies for EPC core, RAN, and IoT devices.
  • Detect process gaps across teams and implement short-term fixes while designing long-term automated solutions.
  • Validate, track, and manage hardware/software assets using automated tools.
  • Implement change management processes to ensure IT system modifications meet security standards.
  • Conduct credential-based scans to identify and analyze security weaknesses.
  • Provide actionable insights to address vulnerabilities, monitor trends, and ensure thorough review and approval processes are in place.
Desired Qualifications
  • Preferred skills: Certification or experience in risk management, cybersecurity, or related roles.
  • Preferred proficiency in one or more skills/tools to analyze and present security risk by using tools associated with credential-based vulnerability scanning, encryption technology, containers (e.g., Kubernetes, Docker), databases (e.g., Oracle, MySQL), ServiceNow GRC, PowerBI, Python, Snowflake.
  • The ideal candidate has experience in explaining security controls and reviewing evidence of compliance leveraging security frameworks (e.g., NIST/ISO, 3GPP, GSMA standards), NIST 800-53 compliance, and/or conversant with Mobility Security, 3GPP (3rd Generation Partnership Project), and GSMA (GSM Association) standards/guidelines.
  • Experience in supporting a federal cybersecurity program, particularly in creating an approval security documentation package for FEDRAMP, or familiarity with the FirstNet program and standards security, is a significant advantage.
