Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in payroll management, with a focus on compliance.
  • In-depth knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities
  • Monitor payroll operations to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax laws, as well as labor and employment regulations (e.g., FLSA, wage and hour laws, etc.).
  • Ensure adherence to corporate policies and relevant internal controls related to payroll.
  • Oversee the preparation, filing, and payment of all payroll-related taxes, including Form 5500 filings.
  • Lead internal and external audits related to payroll, benefits, and compensation.
  • Ensure timely submission of payroll-related reports, such as W-2s, 1099s, and other year-end documentation.
  • Regularly review payroll systems and processes to identify and address any compliance risks.
  • Oversee the accurate and timely processing of employee payroll, including salaries, bonuses, overtime, and deductions.
  • Implement and maintain systems for recording payroll transactions, ensuring proper documentation and reporting.
  • Provide guidance and training to payroll and HR staff on payroll-related matters, including regulatory updates.
  • Communicate any new compliance policies or procedures to ensure team members are informed and compliant.
  • Work with product teams to ensure payroll systems are up-to-date and capable of handling compliance requirements.
  • Ensure data integrity and confidentiality in payroll processes by implementing security controls.
  • Collaborate with HR, finance, and legal teams to ensure payroll compliance with employee contracts, benefits, and other company policies.
