Requirements
  • A High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • A minimum of one year of experience in an administrative setting is required.
  • Experience or knowledge working in the social service or a related field is preferred.
  • Computer literacy in the Microsoft suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook, is required.
  • The ability to work in a fast-paced environment is required.
  • An understanding, appreciation, and commitment to the organization's philosophy and mission are required.
Responsibilities
  • Perform general clerical duties, including photocopying, faxing, mailing, filing, and arranging deliveries.
  • Exercise discretion when handling sensitive information in accordance with HIPAA and agency guidelines.
  • Handle internal and external communications by phone, email, and written correspondence.
  • Operate a high-volume, multiple-line phone system and promptly return calls, messages, and emails.
  • Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders, including staff, program participants, visitors, and vendors.
  • Arrange, schedule, and coordinate the office calendar.
  • Prepare and edit communications, presentations, and other documents.
  • Manage databases, including data entry in Excel and electronic health record systems.
  • File and retrieve documents and reference materials.
  • Provide timely, accurate, and clear documentation according to established policies and procedures.
  • Respond effectively to challenges, deadlines, emergencies, and competing demands.
  • Respond promptly, accurately, courteously, and respectfully to the needs of program participants.
  • Represent the organization positively and appropriately to outside resources.
  • Support the organization's mission and values and draw attention to behavior that undermines group effectiveness or conflicts with core values.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

  • College or continuing education is preferred.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish speaking ability is preferred.

S:US helps New Yorkers who face homelessness, disability, behavioral health and addiction challenges, poverty, criminal justice involvement, and trauma access a wide range of supports across New York City and Long Island. It coordinates services such as case management, housing and stabilization, behavioral health treatment, recovery supports, rehabilitation, advocacy, and community-based programs tailored to each person’s needs. By linking housing, health, justice, and community resources, S:US delivers integrated, place-based services that address multiple barriers at once rather than focusing on a single issue. The goal is to help people lead purposeful lives, improve neighborhoods, and break the cycle of poverty for current and future generations of New Yorkers.
