Requirements
  • Deep analog and mixed-signal design and modelling experience, typically 10+ years.
  • Experience designing analog blocks proven in silicon and using models in production tape-out flows.
  • Expert transistor-level design of precision analog blocks, including references, digital-to-analog converters, regulators, switches, and clock distribution, through process-voltage-temperature analysis, Monte Carlo analysis, layout, and silicon validation.
  • Expertise in Verilog-A and Verilog-AMS and strong real-number modelling experience.
  • Multiple tape-outs with responsibility for block design and top-level integration, including silicon bring-up and bench characterisation.
  • Strong mathematical foundations in linear systems, Laplace and z-domain analysis, network Z-parameters, noise, and non-linearity.
  • Fluency in a production Cadence flow using Virtuoso, Spectre, Xcelium, and AMS Designer or similar co-simulation environments, including parasitic extraction and post-layout sign-off.
  • Experience with SystemVerilog and MATLAB or Python/NumPy for analysis and model validation, including scripting to automate model generation, checking, and regression.
  • Ability to design a block to specification and model it at the appropriate fidelity, derive models from equations, and implement them end to end.
  • Ability to align designers, verification engineers, and systems engineers on model scope and guarantees and contribute effectively within a highly technical team.
Responsibilities
  • Own the full-chip modelling strategy, including model architecture, abstraction levels, accuracy targets, and sign-off criteria across the integrated-circuit development flow.
  • Own analog and mixed-signal blocks, including references, digital-to-analog converters, switches, regulators, and clock distribution, from specification through schematic design.
  • Own top-level integration by defining block interfaces and specifications, assembling the top level, and running full-chip mixed-signal simulations to verify the application-specific integrated circuit.
  • Develop Verilog-A and Verilog-AMS models of analog blocks and assemble them into a simulatable full chip.
  • Build real-number models so the full chip can run in digital verification and regression at practical speed.
  • Derive models from first-principles mathematics, including transfer functions, Z-parameter network descriptions, and MATLAB analyses, and implement them in robust Verilog-A with well-behaved tolerances.
  • Define and run model-versus-schematic correlation, keep models synchronized with design releases, and feed measured silicon behaviour back into models and block designs.
  • Establish mixed-signal co-simulation and regression using Cadence AMS Designer, Xcelium, and Spectre.
  • Set design and modelling standards and sign-off criteria for the programme.
  • Lead block-level design reviews and mentor engineers on circuit design and modelling.
  • Build and maintain a mixed-abstraction full-chip model combining transistor-level circuits with Verilog-A, Verilog-AMS, and SystemVerilog real-number behavioural blocks.
  • Decide which blocks are represented at each abstraction level and keep models faithful to schematics and measured silicon.
  • Use the full-chip model to verify application-specific integrated circuits controlling the quantum processor from room temperature down to a few kelvin.
Desired Qualifications
  • Cryogenic, space, or other extreme-environment silicon experience, especially designing beyond foundry model validity using measured device data.

IonQ CEO says quantum computers could crack Bitcoin encryption by 2028 — yet Strategy just bought $370M more

IonQ and Congruity360 sign $8.18M quantum-security agreement to protect US enterprise data

IonQ and Congruity360 have announced an $8.18 million agreement to enhance quantum-safe data protection, marking one of the largest commercial quantum security deals in the United States. Under the partnership, Congruity360 will integrate IonQ's quantum key distribution and post-quantum cryptography appliances into its enterprise data management platform. IonQ unveils Superion 256 quantum computer, scales to millions of qubits with 300x cost reduction

IonQ has launched its sixth-generation quantum computing platform, Superion 256, marking a shift toward scalable, manufacturable quantum systems. The company reported $80.1 million in revenue in the second quarter of 2026, up 287% year-over-year. IonQ recently acquired chip foundry SkyWater for $1.8 billion in cash and stock. SkyWater generated $317.1 million in revenue through the first half of 2026. Management is guiding for full-year revenue of $280 million to $290 million. Combined with SkyWater's projected $600 million, IonQ could reach approximately $900 million in total revenue this year. However, IonQ reported a $254.7 million operating loss through six months of 2026. The company's share count is increasing significantly, with approximately 24 million new shares added from the SkyWater acquisition and $450 million in stock-based compensation over the past year.
