  • Strong mechanical and diagnostic abilities are required.
  • Knowledge of diesel engines is required.
  • Familiarity with vehicle electrical systems and hydraulic systems is required.
  • Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment is required.
  • Welding experience is required.
  • A high school diploma or GED is required.
  • A valid driver’s license is required.
  • An owned tool set is required.
Responsibilities
  • Perform routine preventative maintenance on company trucks and trailers.
  • Inspect vehicles and equipment to identify mechanical, electrical, or safety issues.
  • Diagnose and repair engines, transmissions, brakes, electrical systems, suspension, and other components of trucks and trailers.
  • Use computerized diagnostic tools and testing equipment to troubleshoot problems.
  • Maintain accurate service and repair records for each vehicle.
  • Ensure vehicles meet Department of Transportation, Occupational Safety and Health Administration, and company safety standards.
  • Communicate with the fleet manager about maintenance needs and repair timelines.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
Desired Qualifications
  • Vocational training or an automotive or diesel technology certification is preferred.
  • Automotive Service Excellence certification is preferred.
  • Trailer maintenance experience is a plus.
