Requirements
  • Graduation from high school or equivalent education and three (3) years of progressively responsible relevant work experience, including experience maintaining complex records and files, handling public or customer relations by explaining detailed policies, regulations, and requirements, preparing and processing financial and statistical documents such as payroll, travel, claims, and budgeting forms, or assisting staff and management with projects and activities.
  • One (1) year of experience as an Administrative Assistant II in Nevada State service, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • A valid Class “C” Nevada driver’s license or higher operator’s license is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment.
  • The position requires transporting clients to appointments related to refugee assistance.
Responsibilities
  • Administer and coordinate wrap-around services for eligible clients, including educational support, youth mentoring, medical, health, employment, and other social services required by federal law, with the goal of obtaining client self-sufficiency.
  • Partner with other case managers to help newly arriving refugees navigate the United States education system and receive mentoring support.
  • Represent the Northern Nevada International Center professionally in interactions with federal, state, and local agencies and nonprofit partners.
  • Document all expenditures and assist the financial team with posting financial transactions.
  • Ensure that case files comply with federal regulations.
  • Attend trainings and contractual meetings.
  • Supervise case aides and other positions.
  • Attend staff meetings and perform other duties as assigned.
