- Establish integration standards (REST/GraphQL APIs, Kafka/event-driven components, OAuth2/OpenID Connect, mutual TLS) and resilience patterns (retry, circuit breaker, bulkhead).
- Drive site reliability engineering practices: define service level indicators/service level objectives, instrument services (logs, metrics, traces), optimize Java Virtual Machine/heap/garbage collection, and lead incident response to reduce mean time to recovery.
- Conduct design and threat modeling reviews, performance benchmarks, and production readiness assessments; make clear go/no-go decisions with risk trade-offs.
- Mentor engineers across pods; elevate code quality, documentation (architecture decision records, runbooks), backlog hygiene, and measurable continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with product, platform, security, data/AI, and infrastructure teams to convert business goals into technical roadmaps and outcomes aligned with the organization’s principles.
