Requirements
  • An associate’s degree in environmental science or a related field.
  • The ability to withstand harsh outdoor environments.
  • The ability to physically lift at least 50 pounds.
  • The ability to set priorities, organize, coordinate work efficiently, establish good working relationships, and work independently and creatively.
  • The ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing and prepare and present technically correct, detailed material through presentations.
  • The ability to lead a small team independently during field work.
  • Laboratory experience and knowledge of safety procedures.
  • The ability to attend out-of-state training, certification, and conference events.
  • Must be at least eighteen years of age.
  • A valid driver’s license and insurability are required.
  • Successful completion of the required pre-employment drug screen and background check.
Responsibilities
  • Conduct environmental field work as instructed and participate in the environmental objectives, goals, and activities of all Kaw Nation Environmental Protection Agency programs.
  • Complete water-quality sampling and monitoring.
  • Complete air-quality monitoring.
  • Complete indoor air-quality sampling and/or monitoring.
  • Lead teams during prescribed burns, such as wetlands burns.
  • Organize outreach programs, including recycling, educational outreach activities, and community cleanups.
  • Perform other duties assigned and required by the Environmental Protection Agency Director.
