- Five years of full-time satisfactory experience in the maintenance, installation and repair of a railroad signal system and electrical equipment relevant to the duties of the position of Maintenance Supervisor (Signals)
- At least one year of this experience must have been in a supervisory capacity
- A motor vehicle driver license valid in the State of New York with no restrictions, which must be maintained for the duration of employment.
- Development and delivery of training programs in the classroom and at field locations
- Supervising and instructing students in math, electronics, fiber optic training, and the operation, inspection, troubleshooting, and maintenance of NYC Transit signal equipment
- Developing and writing lesson plans
- Developing and maintaining training aids and mock-ups
- Planning, organizing, and coordinating the delivery of training, both computer-based and instructor-led
- Maintaining records and preparing reports and evaluations on trainees
- Preparing and delivering formal presentations
- Reviewing new technology contracts and attending vendor training
- Cross-training in electronic instruction
- Thorough understanding of the methods and procedures used by the Division of Maintenance of Way/Signals/New Technology Signals for the inspection and maintenance of NYC Transit signals equipment
- Thorough knowledge of NYC Transit's rules and regulations
- Ability to organize and present training material to an audience
- Effective writing, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
- Knowledge of MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook
- Knowledge of CBTC, SSI, PLC, UPS, SAG Corrector operations & procedures
- Understanding of Fiber Optics (FO) & FO splicing
- Basic industrial electronic component fundamentals and use of oscilloscopes
