Role
This role is based in Bangalore Securities Finance team. The team provides Securities Finance front office (Trading & Account Management) support from Bangalore. This role will be leading a group of 9 partners team which provide processing support for SF portfolio evaluations, SF borrower reviews, delivering client metrics and other front office support activities.
Minimum Requirements
Candidate having prior experience and background with Securities Finance Operations, Client portfolio data analysis would be preferred
Must be flexible to work in shifts
Other as per HR guidelines
Overall knowledge
An in-depth background/exposure to managing teams (including conflict resolution, problem solving) is essential
Good understanding of Securities Finance business and Operations. Knowledge of Client reporting, regulatory and risk reporting is preferred
Technical knowledge on MS Office suite, PowerBI and small code application like Alteryx is preferred
Knowledge of International & Domestic markets from the Securities Lending perspective will be preferred.
Good understanding of the Securities Lending/ Custody Trade & settlements, Entitlements functions globally is an added advantage
Should have a clear understanding of the existing Internal Controls, Risks within the Securities lending business
Excellent Team Leadership, staff management and organizational skills

Major Duties:
Workflow Management:
Assesses team workloads and allocates work as appropriate in conjunction with Team Lead
Prioritises & monitors work in a daily / weekly / monthly timeframe
Develops & set periodic goals & priorities. Ability to build long & short term strategies for the team & lead them from the front.
Ensures adequate staffing levels on a day-to-day basis, including adequate training and cross training.
Management Support / Performance Management:
Actively support Northern’s performance and appraisal process
Monitors performance of staff including absenteeism and work standards
Advises line management of performance issues and provides documented evidence where necessary
Staffing Development:
Ability to drive engagement and inclusion across the team and the Division.
Responsible for managing the team under direct supervision, including conducting the performance management process and providing input for staff and disciplinary actions
Develops and maintains specific subject expertise within the team
Supports the teammates in achieving their best and seeks support from management wherever and whenever required
Responsible for career progression, mentoring & development of the team members
Process Management:
Lead & drives Innovative Thinking and Excellence in Execution contributing to Driving Performance
Displays a complete understanding of the day to day business of SL Trade support and collateral, on requirement acts as approvers for output from the process
Displays extremely high ownership for both the team and the process. Steps up and makes effective decisions at all times.
Management Information:
Understanding & ownership of the Business Continuity & Pandemic plans for the processes
Manages the delivery of appropriate MI for senior management
Owns all output generated from the function for the Securities Lending Business
Builds up strong relationships with Team members, Middle Offices Front Offices & external borrowers
Technical:
MS Office suite, MS access database, PowerBI hands on experience is a must as the role is involved in data extraction and analysis for client portfolio
Identify and escalate issues. Resolve and/or escalate to the appropriate team for resolution
Develops and maintains overall subject matter expertise for all the Securities Lending & specifically of Trade & Settlements & Collateral
Responsible for interacting with various business areas to determine automation needs and provide on-going systems support
Control / Compliance:
Should be aware of market wide practices such as BCP, Pandemic planning etc.,
Ensures adequate controls are in place such that key daily deadlines are met
Good Understanding of the risks associated with the functions & ensure that adequate controls are in place to cover them
Own and ensure adequate access controls for the proprietary systems for the staff
Informs Reporting Manager when procedures are breached or when there is risk of loss to the Bank or client
Core Competencies:
Good interpersonal skills and understanding of NT and its business. Organisational Knowledge (business knowledge, expert knowledge and external events impact) – NT Savvy (relationship builder, respectful, & have good networking skills))
Well versed with MS office Suite and PowerBI. Building PowerBI codes, decoding previous built models on powerBI
The role involves written and verbal communication with counterparties such as agents and borrowers. Candidate needs to have effective verbal and written communication skills - Effective Communication Skills
