Legoland Windsor Resort welcomes dogs for Christmas

Legoland Windsor Resort welcomes dogs for Christmas. Legoland Windsor Resort has announced that it will be welcoming four-legged canine friends to join their families for the first time this holiday season. Recognising that Christmas is a time for families to be together, the resort is introducing Paws in the Park, enabling dogs to join the attraction. The new initiative invites dogs and their owners to explore Christmas Kingdom, which features live entertainment, a festive brass band with the Nutcracker character, and seasonal Lego building activities. Meet santa Paws. As long as they've made it onto his nice list, dogs can participate in meet-and-greets and even present their own wish lists to Father Christmas. Each visiting dog will also be given an exclusive Pop Badge to commemorate their first trip to the Legoland Windsor Resort. "Christmas is about everyone being together and making awesome memories, so that's why this festive season we're welcoming furry canine friends into the park," says Ramesh Ganeson, VP of Legoland Windsor Resort. "Paws in the Park is a first for us at Legoland Windsor Resort, and this festive season, we want to create joy, magic, and play. This is a truly paw-fect way to celebrate the Christmas season with the entire family." Gemma Todd, dog owner and Legoland Windsor Resort guest, adds: "In the past, we've had to arrange someone to stay behind and dog-sit, which can limit our days out. Paws in the Park is a great initiative for all the family as it means our beloved pooch can now join in on the festive fun." Paws in the Park starts on Sunday 30 November and continues every Sunday in December. Santa visits are scheduled for each Sunday except for 28 December. Guests must first visit Guest Services to complete a Dog Owner Information form. They are required to have a £10 Pet Pass and adhere to the resort's entry guidelines. Pets are poised to become a major attraction and travel trend in the coming years, as both industries strive to attract animal-loving guests. Earlier this year, Italian museums provided a free dog-sitting service to attract more visitors, in partnership with Bauadvisor. Meanwhile, UK charity Guide Dogs has partnered with Warner Bros. Studios Tour London to improve accessibility for visitors with visual impairments. As part of the year-long 'Dogwarts' partnership, the Harry Potter studio tour sponsored three guide dogs in training, named Harry, Ron, and Hermione.

'Turkey Trot': South Park Thanksgiving episode takes aim at Saudi Arabia, PIF

'Turkey Trot': South Park Thanksgiving episode takes aim at Saudi Arabia, PIF. The episode comes amid debunked rumours that Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund will buy film studio Warner Bros with South Park airer Paramount. Saudi Arabia's US investments are the subject of South Park's latest episode in the hit potty-mouthed cartoon's latest politically charged season. The episode sees Saudis sponsor the town's Turkey Trot in the show's first Thanksgiving special since 2013. In the episode, titled 'Turkey Trot', a cash-strapped South Park turns to Saudi Arabia to fund the festive race, since "they're giving money to everyone else". The move causes controversy in the town due to the country's poor human rights record. Some South Park residents, including Eric Cartman, support the Gulf state's reforms, which include allowing women to drive and, recently, expanding alcohol access. Cartman tries to convince his classmate Tolkein Black to join the race, but Tolkein refuses, saying "it just doesn't feel right". Cartman responds by arguing that Saudi Arabia's investments in US businesses are a sign that the country has moved on from "haking up reporters and inviting Pete Davidson to come do comedy", referencing both the 2018 murder of Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi, and the recent Riyadh Comedy Festival. The episode comes after Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman's (MbS) recent Oval Office meeting with US President Donald Trump, the Prince's first official visit to the United States since Khashoggi's murder. The meeting saw Trump and MbS discuss AI, nuclear cooperation, and the sale of F-35 fighter jets to Saudi Arabia. The meeting was timely, as Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund (PIF) has been expanding its investments in the United States. This includes a recent purchase of gaming giant EA, a joint investment with Trump's son-in-law Jared Kushner's Affinity Partners. US media rumours also say the PIF is mounting a bid for the film studio Warner Bros. Early rumours said that Paramount Skydance, which owns South Park airer Paramount+, could join the bid. Still, a representative for the entertainment conglomerate downplayed this. The recent South Park episode is the latest in the show's hit 28th season, which has mercilessly parodied US political figures, including Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem, Secretary of War Pete Hegseth, and, of course, Donald Trump, all of whom made an appearance in 'Turkey Trot'. It's not the first time the cartoon has dipped its toes into Middle Eastern politics, with Saddam Hussein and Benjamin Netanyahu both appearing on South Park's long list of public figures parodied. South Park episode 'Turkey Trot' will air on Comedy Central at 10 pm tonight in the UK. It is currently available on Paramount+ in the US.

Sling TV's Day Passes win a reprieve after Disney's court loss

Sling TV's Day Passes win a reprieve after Disney's court loss. Image: Sling ESPN for $5 a day will continue to be a thing - at least for now - following Disney's failed bid to block Sling TV's Day Pass subscriptions. A federal judge has denied Disney's motion for a preliminary injunction against Sling TV, with the judge ruling that Disney's lawsuit against the live TV streamer was unlikely to prevail in a courtroom, Variety reports. Sling TV is still facing another lawsuit against Warner Bros. Discovery - which, like Disney, is arguing that Sling TV breached its contract by rolling out its Day Passes without warning the studio first. To celebrate its legal win, Sling TV is now offering its Orange Day Pass for just $1 until the end of the month. While Disney's lawsuit against Sling TV is still active, the judge presiding over the case cast serious doubt whether the legal action would ultimately succeed, noting in his ruling that Disney's contact with Sling never specified a minimum length for its subscription services. Disney, for its part, vowed to press on with its lawsuit, telling Variety in a statement that "we look forward to vindicating our position at trial." The dispute revolves around Sling TV's recently launched Day Passes, which gives users 24 hours of access to Sling Orange, a channel package that includes ESPN and ESPN2. There's also a Weekend Pass for $9.99, while a one-week pass goes for $14.99. Sling Orange (which also includes CNN, TBS, TNT, HGTV, and about two-dozen other channels) normally costs $45.99 a month. Sling's Day Passes are a terrific way to tune in to ESPN for a single day, perfect for grabbing a Monday Night Football matchup without shelling out $30 for the new ESPN streaming service. Of course, that's precisely what ESPN owner Disney is worried about, which makes its move to block Sling's Day Passes unsurprising.
