Requirements
  • High School diploma or GED equivalent and 1-3 years of experience in similar testing/inspection.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively with other employees of organization.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Knowledge of MS Outlook; MS Excel and MS Word software.
  • U.S. Person for access to ITAR-Controlled Technical Data.
Responsibilities
  • Request and analyze gel component samples to calculate appropriate formulations and mix ratios.
  • Communicate lot mix ratios and cross mix ratios to component suppliers to enable the manufacture of product to meet performance specifications.
  • Utilize a variety of inspection and measurement tools and equipment (calipers, scales, moisture meter, density meter, penetrometer, viscometer, etc.) in the performance of inspection and measurement duties.
  • Identify all gels, and other materials requiring inspection and prioritize based on guidance from Operations Manager.
  • Inspect, audit and report on materials, processes and products using test equipment and approved techniques to ensure conformance with Teledyne’s quality standards.
  • Inspect/test first articles, mixtures, cured product, and assemblies.
  • Visually examine articles for defects and perform prescribed assessment of articles.
  • Prepare non-conformance reports for non-conforming materials.
  • Ensure materials that do not meet requirements are identified and segregated to prevent inadvertent use.
  • Coordinate with Production to perform in-process and final testing of products as assigned.
  • Document inspection and test results.
  • Perform validation of reference item/standards at prescribed intervals.
  • Participate in quality system documents and forms creation.
  • Assist in the maintenance & calibration of test equipment.
  • Maintain, catalog, organize and dispose of samples retained for future reference and verification.
  • Perform housekeeping and clean-up tasks as required.
  • Perform all other duties requested, directed, or assigned.
