Requirements
  • Minimum 4 years of industry engineering design experience.
  • Bachelor’s Degree or above in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Experienced user of SolidWorks or similar 3D CAD software.
  • Familiarity with EIA-310 rack-mounted equipment and related design standards, and modern best practices for datacenter IT equipment.
  • Willingness to follow and help develop internal design guidelines.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
Responsibilities
  • Generate CAD models and specification drawings for custom mechanical components, including stamped and formed sheet metal, and develop specifications to capture design intent including GD&T.
  • Select appropriate off-the-shelf components for use in assemblies.
  • Perform analysis of thermal performance in packaging designs that may include heatsinks, fans, thermoelectric coolers, heat pipes, liquid cooling, or other devices.
  • Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and optical engineers on adjacent teams on system and component design.
  • Plan and document layouts for multiple enclosures across multiple equipment racks, including cable management and routing and power distribution.
  • Develop and document pilot manufacturing process instructions and quality inspection criteria.
  • Manage item and BOM data in Arena PLM system and initiate or resolve change orders as appropriate.
  • Communicate ideas and concepts to internal and external teams by means of drawings, presentations, and/or emails.

PsiQuantum is developing the world's first commercially useful quantum computer with a photonics-based architecture, leveraging pre-existing manufacturing processes and infrastructure.
